Re: Ryan Anderson
The whole point is that he has played like that 95% of the games this season and you looked like an idiot when you jumped down his throat for one fucking bad game. As if a 22 year old can't have an off night.Lando05 wrote:Hey if he plays like this every game then hell yeah. No complaints tonight. Complete 180 from last Saturday.
Re: Ryan Anderson
I was frustrated after the loss. Felt he played to his weaknesses and bad habits and was a complete no show at USC and cost us the game.dcZONAfan wrote:The whole point is that he has played like that 95% of the games this season and you looked like an idiot when you jumped down his throat for one fucking bad game. You lost me when you declared him the worst 4 in the conference.
Re: Ryan Anderson
Yea, something was off last week. Totally uncharacteristic from what we have seen in terms of grit all year. Id say tonights effort was a pretty damn good response. Seems miller digging in his ass pissed him off in a good way. I like that kind of playerDiehardDave37 wrote:billk78 wrote:
Any theories about what is up with him? He seems OFF since his tech and maybe is sensitive to the scolding he got from Miller in the UCLA game. This last game is so uncharacteristic of "Mr. Steady". Was he ticked off for being chewed out in front of friends and family Thursday night?

It's all good. I said I'd eat crow. Last week against USC Ryan was horrible and was a net negative. I was really pissed about loosing to UCLA like we did and then 4 overtimes to USC. I overreacted. I can handle what I had cominggumby wrote:That was the ugliest 21 an 9 ever! Flunked eye test.

Re: Ryan Anderson
Anderson is about as quiet a star as we've had. He gets very little love on this board, but he produces constantly without being ball dominant. He is almost shooting 60% from the floor. That's nuts.

Reminds me a lot of Michael Wright. Quiet star who gets it done in the paint, but with very strong hands.

I think he's averaging the most ppg in a season since DWill in 2011

Which, given the team's record, most starkly illustrates how bad a rebounding and defensive team this is for Miller.

Playing himself into a long, hard look at a 3rd team All American spot.
Re: Ryan Anderson
Really wish we had him as a freshman. What a star!
Re: Ryan Anderson
Great game last night. Very very quiet star, but there are not many players as consistent as he is.
Cracked me up when the announcers thought the 3 he took in the 2nd half was a lob

Re: Ryan Anderson
I was just telling a friend he needs to develop a 3 to make a roster next year. That was an awkward looking shot.

Huh? Rebounding margin overall is +11.3, or +9.4 in conference games, which is tops.catgrad97 wrote:Which, given the team's record, most starkly illustrates how bad a rebounding and defensive team this is for Miller.

Re: Ryan Anderson
I think we are the #2 defensive rebounding team in the nation. I would have to look at offensive, but given that most rebounds are defensive I think that would put us close to the top in the nation for rebounding margin.gumby wrote:Huh? Now defense, on the other hand...I didn't realize until I looked it up how dramatic the difference is home/away in defensive efficiency.

Re: Ryan Anderson
And when you lead rebounding stats and are not a great defensive team? Even more impressive from a rebounding perspective. Just not as many opportunities to rebound if 35 of the opponents' 70 shots go in vs 27 of 70. While our defense is suspect at best, our rebounding numbers are just silly. We simply do not allow many 2nd chances...and it seems like when we do, it is in a run on one possession where the opponent gets us scrambling and misses 2 or 3 shots and gets the long rebounds for a 3rd or 4th opportunity. But it isn't a common problem. Great defensive FG% should drive great defensive rebounding numbers. We are getting the latter without the former...which is pretty remarkable, and means small improvements defensively could change games, especially when we lose so many close ones.

Who was it that was talkin shit bout Anderson after the socal trip? Lando?
He wont win it because people are dumb as f, but he's the conference player of the year right now. To hell with Andrews and his 38 pct fg percentage.
This dude may be the most valuable player to any team in the country. Yes, even more than Dunn

I'm so damn impressed with Ryan. The guy has a will and determination that is off the charts. I don't remember anyone pouring his heart and soul out onto that court like he does. A natural leader and good spokesman as well. One of my favorite cats ever.

Kid is a beast. Don't think we shot it very well in the second half and we turned it over a lot today but him giving us do many second chance shots made the difference.
Just is relentless on the glass. I wonder what percentage of rebounds off our misses we had. I bet it was 50/50 in the second half which would be an incredible stat

I consider him a two year player. He was a beast of a practice player for us last year and definitely contributed to the success of the team.Alieberman wrote:I love what Ryan is doing, couldn't be more impressed.... but a 1 year player would never be anywhere near the top of my list for all time favorites.threenumberones wrote:I'm so damn impressed with Ryan. If he's not Player of the Week it will be a fucking travesty.
