Sounds like three of the guys in trouble are trying to get plea-bargains going...which might mean this thing wraps up sooner than later...
http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow ... story.html" target="_blank
Judicial Disposition means they are getting to a place where they "dispose" the case...finalize it in other words...this has a few possible scenarios...either they FBI has such airtight evidence there is no point in contesting it, or there have not been any other plea possibilities to materialize (ie; naming names has produced zilch in terms of FBI further convictions) or both...
Basically the article says they are extending the negotiation part of the case and the parties will all agree to a final verdict including penalties...
"Several people familiar with the case"...ie: sources we do not want to name since they do not work for the FBI or the charged or really have anything at all to do with the case but we wanted a money quote for filler...
And what the hell is "grassroots basketball"???? Is someone starting a grassroots basketball thing, what a wonderful idea lets start a Gofund me page for this new sport thats been around for almost 100 years now...

AAU basketball
Re: Bribery Scandal - FBI Probe - Book Richardson Involved
Yes, it's AAU, and they're looking for a plea deal.
Negotiation is probably centered on penalty vs. what prosecutors get in exchange. Typical stuff.
And, no, reporters/editors don't willingly withhold names of sources for "filler." That, too, is part of a deal. That is, "we will tell you this, but don't attribute it to me."
Pro-tip: Oftentimes, unnamed sources are named elsewhere in the story. They just want plausible deniability if someone comes looking for a leak. It's not the janitor. It's not made up.
(Not to get political, oftentimes people looking for leaks are previous leakers themselves. It's just that they're the victim this time.)

The worst part for me in all this is we are going to hear this bs repeated every single game this season.
Re: Bribery Scandal - FBI Probe - Book Richardson Involved
Yep. Trying (him and his attorney) to squeeze what they can out of a settlement knowing the University does not want any more attention regarding all of this until it's time for the NCAA to look at possible sanctions.Spaceman Spiff wrote:Yeah. The only potential downside would be if he wanted to actually push the suit in the direction of trial, and there's a low chance of that. Outside that possibility, it does nothing.ChooChooCat wrote:There's literally nothing to see here with this. He's trying to continue collecting a paycheck until he can't. "As the specter of NCAA sanctions loom, Allonzo Trier gave children at UMC Arizona shirts. It is unknown about whether the children are potential recruits or pediatric cancer patients. If they are potential recruits, this could only deepen the issues surrounding Sean Miller."

Does anyone know if there is any possibility that any of our current players will be held out after the exhibition (like they are doing at Auburn)?

You apparently don't believe Miller because he has said he expects Rawle back by December do you really think he'd say that if he had ANY information or knew that Rawle had been named as receiving illegal benefits?Irish27 wrote:Rawlie could be one.Bordercat wrote:Question:

As a matter of fact Millers presser of a week ago suggested he expected a full roster active outside of injuries and team violations...that pretty much says he has no information on ANY of his current roster getting illegal benefits...he'd be absolutely insane to play someone who he knew had been named.

Maybe they faked the broken foot like they faked the moon landing and they faked Elvis's death? It's a deep state coverup of the real reason Rawle can't play.CatFanOneMil wrote:You apparently don't believe Miller because he has said he expects Rawle back by December do you really think he'd say that if he had ANY information or knew that Rawle had been named as receiving illegal benefits?Irish27 wrote:Rawlie could be one.Bordercat wrote:Question:

Bowen's lawyer claims his dad took the $100K and Brian didnt know. Expects him to be reinstated. If that happens, we get Quinnerly back? ha
Can anyone think of a college players parents that took money and the NCAA suspended the player? Does age matter, 17 vs 18? Bowen was 18 when this occurred.
Found this from 2010. Sports Agent paid 30+ players including AZs Rob Waldrop. Waldrop claimed he met with him but didnt get any money

Being cleared by the FBI and being cleared by the NCAA are two very, very different things. Bowen's dad can say what he wants, but I'd be stunned if he plays at Louisville.Jefe wrote:Bowen's lawyer claims his dad took the $100K and Brian didnt know. Expects him to be reinstated. I don't think anyone ever seriously believed the FBI had an interest in indicting players.

March 1995: UA basketball players Damon Stoudamire and Ben Davis were declared ineligible by the NCAA for receiving extra benefits.
Stoudamire missed the final game of the 1994-95 regular season because his father, Willie, had accepted a plane ticket from an agent. Davis was ruled ineligible for the final game of the regular season and the NCAA Tournament after the NCAA discovered he received at least $3,400 in gifts from a friend in New York City.
June 2000: Former UA basketball player Jason Terry was accused by the NCAA of accepting about $11,000 in loans from prospective player agents in San Francisco and New York City. Terry paid $45,363 to the UA, the amount of money Arizona received for a 1999 NCAA Tournament game against Oklahoma.
November 2000: Basketball center Loren Woods was declared ineligible for the first six games of the 2000-01 season for taking a loan of an unspecified amount from his former high school coach.

Bowen needs to claim he knows absolutely nothing about it in any sense.
Then when they go talking to his dad, his dad (over whom the NCAA has no jurisdiction) tells them to get a warrant.
For reference see: Newton, Cam (Auburn).

...if they ( the NCAA) can't prove up the existence of a bribe, then the NCAA has no reason to not let you play.
Now Louisville has more reason to kinda want Bowen to be guilty and not be allowed to play (see 44 million reasons; see also Rick Pition lawsuit), but if we are just talking about the NCAA the Bowens would be wise to not help the NCAA prove up the existence of a bribe and then threaten the NCAA for lost draft position if Brian isn't allowed to play.
Re: Bribery Scandal - FBI Probe - Book Richardson Involved
Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne announced just prior to tipoff that the Crimson Tide are holding out heralded freshman point guard Collin Sexton until he receives clearance to play from the NCAA.
“The NCAA informed us late this afternoon that Colin Sexton has not had his eligibility reinstated by the NCAA,” Byrne said in a statement. “We don’t have any further information at this time, but we will continue to cooperate with the NCAA and work toward a resolution that results in Colin’s timely reinstatement. While we are disappointed, the right decision was to err on the side of caution for tonight’s exhibition game.”

Another Gary Parrish article, why does he always want to see anything connected to UA in a bad light?
The dude in the article (Bell) is whacko on several levels, (does not mean he has no evidence) he wants to expose Pastner because Josh did not call him on his birthday...wtf???
Drug addicts should not be allowed to be near your program...thats just common sense.
