Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Just read TJ McConnell lost his starting position to Markelle Fultz. Fultz with so much more upside but TJ has busted his butt to be a quality NBA player. Hopefully TJ will still get minutes but it likely won't be many heading toward the NBA playoffs.

TJ wasn't starting. He was getting backup PG duties to Simmons. He got a little less MPG once Fultz came back but not a whole lot less, still averaged about 15 MPG. But good thing for TJ is that Fultz and Ben cannot play together since neither one of them will even attempt a wide open 3PT shot lol. Now that the playoffs are here you would assume Ben's MPG will go up and TJ will get minutes playing alongside Simmons instead of Fultz.

Kobi spent the entire season with the Memphis Grizzlies, but wasn't good enough to get off the bench at UA? Hate that Miller wasted that type of talent.

Did you see his numbers? Shot 42% and 28% from 3. No thanks. He couldn't shoot at Arizona either

He really only started playing when they went full tank mode. There's reasons he didn't play much down the stretch last year, and his NBA potential was never in that much doubt anyways.

Kobi always had more potential than actual delivering on it. I can see why the Grizz would let him go see what he can do when their season is already DOA.

Players with his physical gifts are always gonna get more looks. It doesn't mean he's actually better or would have performed better for us.

He was on a two-way contract and played in 32 NBA games on a team that played seven different guys at point guard. He did not spend "the entire season with the Memphis Grizzlies".
"Plus, why would I go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros."

TJ is playing over #1 pick Fultz in the playoffs. And 76ers fans genuinely wondered why they didn't keep him in over #1 Ben Simmons last night.

Sixers choked that game away by having non-ballhandlers handle the ball. TJ was even on the court for the last possession in regulation but they hid him in the far corner.

Simmons is a good regular season NBA point guard but once the playoffs start and teams start playing defense, he needs to move to the 2 or 3 and let an actual point guard that makes good decisions run the team.

Damn. If you'd told me TJ McConnell would start an NBA playoff game when he graduated, I would have said you were insane. TJ's career is such an inspiration on so many levels.

Per the earlier in the offseason talk about who Arizona's next HC is, can I say TJ is my pick?

What’s interesting is that coming down the stretch of the regular season I could have sworn TJ was on his way out of town. Purely used in the last few minutes after games were already decided. I had resigned myself to him being a back up on a shitty team or heading to Europe.

But now? I think the Sixers would be foolish to let him go.

Even at that point, no way he'd go to Europe. He's proved he's an NBA guy. LeBron would probably love to have him around (especially considering Cleveland tried to trade for him last year).

I hate him being in Philly though, because the way they've built the roster is just a bad fit for him. Between Simmons and Fultz, they tried to go in another direction for PG, which I don't believe was optimal, and it made it really tough for them to find minutes for TJ. However, Fultz's lack of health has helped TJ out, but they still go away from him.

Let's take game 3. On the (should've been) last possession of regulation, they are running an awkward inbound plus off-ball pick with Redick, Embiid, and Simmons. TJ is actually on the court, an improvement, but he's in "get out of way" land, the far corner. If anything, swap him and Redick, so you have an actual passing PG making passes, and a much better shooter spotting in the corner that will have a passing lane opening as the play develops.

I understand why they don't play him, because they designed the team in such a way that should have removed the need for him. But time and time again, they are much better when he is getting starter minutes. I just hope they figure it out next year, since he deserves to be appreciated by more than Embiid and announcers, but with Fultz returning, I just don't see it happening. (although a Fultz+more trade for Kawhi would be a very interesting idea that they should pursue, and would help TJ)

I guess because he changed his shot when he got hurt. But he has technically been healthy for a while, even when he wasn't dressing for games. I think even the coach said we'll play him when he gets confidence in his game again, or something along those lines. Right now he won't shoot outside of 15 feet, hence why he is not playing. Unless either one of Simmons or Fultz gets a shot (that seems unlikely imo) I think the 76ers will have PT for TJ.
