It is early. Does anyone with any inside insight know if AZ is in play for any top 25 guys?
Even if Miller suspects sanctions down the road, it does not explain why he would prefer to take an alternative path of focusing on 4 star guys when both Louisville and USC loaded up with highly ranked players during their periods of distress. Seriously, people are surprised at Arizona's incoming class, how about what Louisville did under more scrutiny and perhaps under the prospect of facing greater sanctions.

Guys we seem to be in the mix with:
1 Daishan Nix 6'3" 205
2/1 Nimari Burnett 6'3" 180
2 Marjon Beauchamp 6'6" 170
3 Zaire Williams 6'7" 180
3 Julian Strawther 6'7" 220
Guys we have been mentioned w/ but seem like long shots:
2/1 Joshua Christopher 6'4" 200
2 Jalen Green 6'5" 170
3 Jalen Johnson 6'8" 215

So what is the deal with USC? What AAU/shoe relationship is landing them all their talent? Looks like they might have a commitment for the number one recruit in ‘20?

The college positions itself with the influencers. If you're good with the influencers, you trust the remainder to work out, and do the the rest of the recruiting.midnightx wrote:So what is the deal with USC? They hired his dad (Eric Mobley) as asst coach in 2018.midnightx wrote:So what is the deal with USC? What AAU/shoe relationship is landing them all their talent? Looks like they might have a commitment for the number one recruit in ‘20?
His son is 5★ - #1 overall recruit Evan Mobley in 2020. His other son is Isiah Mobley, 5★ - #17 overall recruit in 2019.

Andy Enfield is a horrible coach, but a great recruiter. California Nike kids that want to stay local and either A. wanted nothing to do with Steve Alford or B. had Nike pushing them away from UnderArmour found comfort in USC.Spaceman Spiff wrote:The college positions itself with the influencers. Really important Doutrieve returns this year and develops, Armstrong doesn't get Doutrieve'd like last year and develops. Lee comes back as a Sr. Williams hopefully stays 3 years, because he likely isn't NBA material.
Barcello Sr.
Lee Sr.
Koloko So.
Armstrong So.
Doutrieve Jr.
Williams Jr.
IDK how good that team is, but if they're all here that could be pretty good experienced team. If Nnaji decides he needs another year, well that's good. If Mannion does as well that's even better. Just need depth with PG, Wings & bigs.

Yeah the core pieces are certainly there, the only question would be center and overall depth. In theory I really like the starting 1-4.NYCat wrote:Yeah it looks rough early.ChooChooCat wrote:1 Daishan Nix 6'3" 205 - Probably best point guard in the class, so every one will be on him, will be toughbaycat93 wrote:

Based on your post above it does not seem like we are likely to get an immediate impact type player in that recruiting cycle so the opportunity should be there.ChooChooCat wrote:In a perfect world I imagine he'd start again as a senior, but that'll depend on his improvement as a player as well as who else we'd recruit for that following year.baycat93 wrote:CCC,

lol wutArizona: "Coach Justin Gainey we had a previous relationship when he was at Marquette so just having that type of relationship with Coach Gainey and Coach (Sean) Miller, they've made it clear that they want me there. The class they have coming in is really good and I could see myself playing there. It was beautiful there and they have this thing called Phoenix Push where a lot of their big guards like Stanley Johnson and Aaron Gordon have pushed the ball and they compare me to that."
I've never heard that term before

He's got a bit of work to do if he chooses to go that route. With Cam going to Phoenix now that will give the family even more of a reason than he already had to choose to go that route. Not a done deal yet though. Keep an eye on some movement coming soon (non-Puff related).goslingswagg wrote:Reclassification candidate potentially?ChooChooCat wrote:Big up to Robert Sarver for the recruiting assist, by taking a recruit's brother way over the slot he should've been drafted.
