ya know, admittedly I didn’t ask - I just got a message from the inside that Doutrive has been “dominating“ in practice so farAlieberman wrote:Good to hear.

I don’t respond or inquire further anymore - just pass along as thats what the intent of the message was for in the first place.

Fuck yeah!
Love the info, thanks 97.
DD is a fan favorite and I’m choosing to interpret this as him dominating on D.

Yeah I get it. It just seems that almost always 1 or more of the incoming players gets over hyped and doesn't live up to the billing (at least right away)97cats wrote:ya know, admittedly I didn’t ask - I just got a message from the inside that Doutrive has been “dominating“ in practice so farAlieberman wrote:Good to hear.

Awesome. I hope DD is not only an asset this year, but ready to lead a young wing rotation next year.97cats wrote:ya know, admittedly I didn’t ask - I just got a message from the inside that Doutrive has been “dominating“ in practice so farAlieberman wrote:Good to hear.

100% and who knows how good the other players have been in practice, he could be dominating crap for all I know.Alieberman wrote:

if it means anything, the same player mentioned above last year was talked about very differently just one year ago - not sure what that means if anything but interesting if nothing else

Re: Devonaire Doutrive
Thank you, 97.
Honestly, is there anyone here who can't picture Doutrive as the best player on a college basketball court? Last year he was severely limited by his team defense and off-the-court issues. But even as a freshman in very limited minutes, he flashed with all kinds of star-studded glean. Just a step ahead, flying a cubit higher, and with a softer touch than everyone else. If somehow he turned around the other stuff, this insider report here makes perfect sense.

so since Al picked at my curiosity, and I have a soft spot for Al, I did what I normally don’t and inquired on potential starting rotation/best players so far - here was the exact response two minutes ago:
Nico, Jamal or dnaire, josh, zeke, chase jeter

That was definitely part of it, but he had 33 min and 4 games of 27 min after Trier returned.azcat49 wrote:Trier came back

Probably in the first 3 or 4 games. No doubt AT’s offensive efficiency was needed but it would have been nice to find an expanded role for KS off the bench

Re: Devonaire Doutrive
So it was that Lauri team. And it was only because Trier was out.
I don’t think we’ve had many teams that started 3 freshmen. Not sure Miller had one prior to that Lauri team. Not even Lute had very many. It’s possible there was a team from the Gardner/Arenas/RJ/Wright era with 3+ freshmen starters.
We’re not like Duke and UK who’ve had several teams start 3 freshmen.

Re: Devonaire Doutrive
I'm sure we are all disappointed with DD and his suspension. ESPN is up to their normal accurate reporting on the matter. Here is what they have to say "Doutrive was a five-star recruit from Southern California in the 2018 class and was expected to have an immediate impact as a freshman. The athletic 6-foot-5 guard showed flashes last season but was inconsistent, averaging 3.3 points and 3.0 rebounds while playing 26 of 32 games.
Jeez had another 5 star I didn't know about.

It was an in house test, we handle it the way we want to handle it. If it was a NCAA test it'd be much tougher, which is why you handle it now before this shit happens as you enter the NCAA tournament.Jefe wrote:Wow thats stupid. Do we self report stuff like this to the NCAA? I would hope not
