Cord cutting options

Post by NorthCtyCat »

All,

I am seriously considering cord cutting and disconnect my cable.
it's just cost too much especially we do not watch TV (other than us playing).

If i dont have cable, do you have any suggestions on where to get the Wildcats fix?
Where do you find ESPN, Fox, CBS, PAC-12, etc?

I don't mind paying per channels .. probably cheaper than what i am paying now.

Thanks in advance!

SlingTV is literally your only option to have every channel that airs Cat games.

I have had Youtube TV for about 4 years now. Absolutely love it. For games on P12 network, you'll have to find a stream (reddit) or pay on sling or fubu tv.

I have SlingTV Orange ($25) plus the Sports pack ($10) and get all the PAC and ESPN channels.

Don't get the CBS Sports channel though. Not sure about FS1 and 2 though.

I cancel SlingTV the day after UA loses its final basketball game.

I normally restart it the beginning of football season, but didn't do it until half the season was over this year. Might not even turn it on that early next season either.

Just stream it. PPU posts links to stream to the football games which I just cast to my TV.

Sling is awful, frequent buffering/outages and weird channel lineups

ive been happy with YoutubeTV. To get P12 network games live without hunting for random streams:

1. Get a $5/mo Vpn service (ipvanish etc.) and set vpn network to somewhere outside the continent.
2. Go to regular YouTube app and search "P12 Network international". Select the channel that is live it is a live stream of P12 network for users abroad, streamed 24/7 afaik.

I have never had an issue with Sling either. No buffering, but being streamed it is a few seconds behind those watching on live TV, so if you follow live stats, you see the score on the web a second before you see it 'live' on Sling.

This is very useful! I am excited for saving quite a bit while still getting my fix.

The thing I don't like about Sling is how my subscription validates Larry Scott. I'd rather get the network illegally, but that's where I have the technical issues I don't get with Sling.

I cut the cord, both of my kids, and watched them get circumcised, the first time, the doctor told me he had an essential tremor, and he sweated profusely and told me I was the first parent to be in on that procedure.
That was a bit unsettling. But he was very professional, kind of like the Sean Miller of circumcisers.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

I've never had a male child, a son as it were, but I did cut the cord on my daughter. I say if I you can trim meat, you can cut the cord.

Here's a new option with Pac 12 Network, all the ESPNs, and the Fox Sports Networks.

Is this a legit service or one of those overseas options?

Who is running it? I noticed for news, Fox News but no MSNBC or CNN.

Seems legit. Supported on Roku, Amazon Firestick, Android and so on.

Just got a email that TorGuard will send a Amazon Firestick and Mini Vpn Router when signing up or renewing a 2 years VPN service. The 50% off code also worked to get the service for a total of $49.00 plus free shipping for the Amazon Firestick and Mini Vpn Router. The router is a GL-MT300N-V2 which allows you to add the VPN config onto it. Great for traveling.

I mean I doubt they're a right wing provider if that's what you're concerned about. Look at who they have deals with. They don't carry the regular Turner networks so obviously no CNN and nothing NBC related so no MSNBC. They prioritized Fox and Disney for the sports and if you get the other Fox networks you're gonna end up with Fox News too. Not sure if they're prioritizing a lower price point and won't work out deals with the Turners and NBCs cause of it or if they're working on it.

I thought Fox News and Fox Entertainment were two separate companies now?

Both are part of Fox Corp.

One of my TVs scans in CBS on 32.1 in addition to 13.1 and it comes in better on that channel.

My other TV scans in 13.1 twice and one is better than the other.

Don't make the mistake of purchasing this. It's absolutely awful, hardly ever works on a browser and the mobile app is clunky and unintuitive.

I signed up for the free trial and it's basically been unusable.
