Didn't know where to leave this. Decent Q&A with Josh Green.

Saw that. Is it me, or do his answers fly in the face of how many here have perceived this year's team? He says team chemistry is strong, that he's benefiting from Miller's coaching, that he loves Tucson/UofA, et al. The one question they didn't ask: "So in another couple weeks, you're getting the F out of college and heading for "greener" pastures, right?" To which JG would've responded: "Oh mos def."zonagrad wrote:Didn't know where to leave this. Decent Q&A with Josh Green.

Got the scoop on Hazzard and needless to say it is a very personal issue. I wouldn't expect him back in an an Arizona uniform barring some type of clarity appearing in the coming weeks. It has nothing to do with his feelings about Miller, his playing time, etc., etc.

It's easy to be skeptical of these types of interviews. But for Green to offer the answer about the Tucson community when asked about the best thing about Arizona and the school shows the players recognize and appreciate the attention.
Some of the comments on this board (and Twitter, etc...) is that Sean Miller has lost the team. If so, then it's the players' choice. Miller is transparent about his tactics. That's why recruits come here: to get coached hard and be held accountable. To some, that may be lip service. That is, until they're being held accountable -- see Max Hazzard. But Green acknowledges that Miller is on him and holding him accountable.
A good example is the situation at Michigan State with Tom Izzo and Cassius Winston. Izzo backed off Winston in light of his brother's suicide. But Izzo couldn't hold back any longer and met with Winston and his family. It boiled over last week with a vocal, on-court exchange. And you know what? It was no big deal. And Izzo is praised about it as he should. And a lot of it is because his team won that particular game and is showing some resurgence.
Does anyone think Tom Izzo would put up with the same shit involving Hazzard and Jeter? Or Doutrive? A coach has to set standards and hold people accountable. And sometimes the results aren't what you wanted because the individual player doesn't step up to the accountability.
Donnell Harris was released from the program 20 years ago. He had a promising career ahead of him after winning a title his sophomore year but tanked after the title season. Imagine if he had played through his senior season. Accountability. Shit happens.

I get the right to privacy. But it's both implied and inferred that his role with the team, Miller, etc... is the problem. That's just as much my own fault as the media portrayal and trying to fill in the blanks. The Twitter posts about his role added fuel to the rumor that he had a problem with Miller.ChooChooCat wrote:Got the scoop on Hazzard and needless to say it is a very personal issue. If it has nothing to do with his role, playing time, Miller, etc... then Arizona can't buy a fucking break.

Exactly. Look at previous cases where student athletes have been out with undisclosed personal issues.Alieberman wrote:Don't know if it's him you should be concerned with.Beachcat97 wrote:Damn. Hope Hazzard is okay.

What a wild up-and-down season it was
Good luck to Nnaji, Mannion, and Green in the NBA
Jeter and Green might give the Pros overseas a try and stick somewhere

So can the NCAA just hand down our punishment now? They don't have anything else going on at the moment.
“The reality is that the hardest games to win are over teams on their home court. Teams that don’t play those games can spin it however they want, but what they’re saying is, ‘We don’t want to lose in our non conference season.’" - Sean Miller

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.
