I'm going to assume (by assume, I mean pray to the sky) we're not hiring Damon, Miles or Terry. It will be interesting to see if any of these three can actually become solid candidates for the job down the road. I have to admit being a little bummed that there isn't an obvious alum, from Lute's family tree, who makes sense to hire right now. I mean, it's Kerr, right? He wasn't supposed to become the Warriors version of Popovich. And now that he's so well established at the pro level, it's hard to imagine him coaching college. If Stan Van Gundy can keep getting hired, imagine how many pro job opps Kerr would have if he ever left GS.

Lol I remember seeing that pic and wanted to throw myself out the 3rd floor window of my dorm. So glad that fell through. As I remember it Sean turned the job down intially and I seriously thought UofA basketball was over. Got out of my 8am the next day and goazcats was reporting that he had a change of heart. What an emotional 24 hour window

If we can get Musselman I would back up the truck. He deserves every penny and would be a long-term investment. He would bring the Cats back to prominence.

He's head and shoulders the best name that's been raised. I doubt he is a real option, but he's 1,000% the best.

And yes, a pattern. I am still fkn pissed and depressed about what they did and how they did it. I have absolutely NO confidence in them.

Just throwing this out for discussion, not saying this is who I want as coach. A lady on Facebook suggested Dan Majerle. It’s at least more interesting than all the alum ass kissing.

That was my experience with a well-known consulting company. The highest level of executive management had an unpopular decision to announce, so they brought those guys in, and they did their "analysis" and generated some fancy reports...and their suggestions miraculously coincided with the obvious and traditional approach that had always been followed in those circumstances. But the top execs could deflect criticism by saying they were just going along with what an "outside" consultant suggested. I guess it's obvious that consultants work for whoever pays them, and their job is to make their paying customer happy. And it worked, as nobody squawked about it, so maybe somebody felt the big expense was worth it. But, if you want to be a leader, then lead, and don't be a weasel politician about it.

Absolutely. I work for a major consulting company as well and the thing that drives me crazy is the lack of of ownership & accountability especially with upper management who you would think were in those positions to make the hard decisions/recommendations. It pisses me off to no end because it makes my job harder because it’s difficult to be successful when you are surrounded by a bunch of tap dancers (no offense to my daughter who happens to be an elite tap dancer.😬).

I think Douche and Douchier wanted to fire Miller right away when the allegations came out but they didn’t want to deal with the backlash, especially when they found out most of the report was bullshit. So instead their plan was to hope Miller wouldn’t be successful with all of the allegations swirling around and basically hang himself. When they realized that wasn’t going to happen and Miller was about to get the program back on track, they tried one last ditch effort with the 1 year Tourney ban. When that again didn’t work, and it looked like he was going to bring back a pretty damn good team, they popped their heads out of their weasel hole and canned Miller. Suck a typical spineless upper management move.

I will always want UofA to be successful but somebody needs to figure out a way to run both Heeke & Robbins out of town.

I am not advocating for Miles but I’m curious why there is so much negativity.
Since he was here under KO he seems to have matured. Knows aau. Assistant in NBA.
Knows west coast.

Just curious.

I hate to hire a former player at this point because I feel if they aren't as successful as the Lute 2.0 we imagine them to be, we'll run then out of town and ruin their legacy.

Oh muss would be a absolute grand slam hire. Not going to lie though... I've always thought Muss was really shady and wouldn't surprise me if we'd have more ncaa allegations under muss. There's always just been this vibe around Muss that is shady. Not sure he exactly follows the rules but he loves to win so it works I guess. I do know there are multiple people who think he tried to sabotage Herb Sendeck while he was at that one pac 12 school I will not name. I love Muss and think we'd be a killer team year in and year out, but something about him has always felt a little off if that makes sense

My only concern with Musselman is his coaching resume. It is a mile long.

If I had to pick from our alumni group that are interested. Simon would be my first choice.

Muss is a good coach but comes off arrogant and a bit belittling in victory. I don't personally find that attractive in a coach but some do. I like the "don't f with us" attitude that I think Sean had in spades. I think he developed that as a not overly athletic point guard that felt the responsibility of leading his team, I also think it created a huge sense of failure in thing like missing free throws or defensive assignments. I like a coach that can't tolerate failure.

Scheer relishes in being seen as edgy...that alone makes him borderline boring.

He is contributing to the noise level because his monetisation model requires a lot of hits and clicks to generate virtual value.

With $3.00 and all that virtual value he can buy a tall regular coffee at Starbucks.

This age of "synthetic" is getting irritating.

I haven't checked it in months, and it is worse than ever!!!
Nearly Everything is behind a paywall, even when the thread is not, 90% of the comments within the thread are. You might see 3 or 4 comments on a 35 comment topic. And the frickin ads are abundant, huge, annoying, and hard to get rid of without clicking on them.

So I'll take this opportunity to say how thankful I am that those that keep this site going do it in such a great format that encourages discussion from all parties. I'm sure it's a lot of work. Thank you!!!
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.
