She seems to thank everyone except Rich H... and says the environment was bad for her mental health.

It really is amazing that 1290 has let everyone go except the problem.....

Say what you want about Kevin and his stupid politics, but he was a great dude, was an entertaining listen, and was a good person to his colleagues. The current state of 1290 is a dumpster fire and it's beyond obvious the primary reason it is.

Agree. Kevin was funny. I think he's fairly close to my age so I enjoyed the nostalgia (except for his obsession with John Wayne), and Mike was a good sidekick. Wish Kevin would have kept his politics out of it (the anti-Dem Bob Hope quote in the intro that was played every single day was not enough for him I guess). I never listen to any local shows anymore - used to look forward to it during the drive home.

Rob Lantz, Kevin's previous co-host, is just as far right wing. Would have been interesting if he was still on with Uncle Kev during the Trump years.

Rich doesn’t seem to be liked by anyone … listener or coworker or colleague. You’d think that if his toxicity is evident to a dude who lives in Indiana and never listens, it should be evident to whoever signs the checks there too.

When i went back to hearing the show after a few months of not listening to it i was dissapointed Woodman was not on anymore but atleast a couple of the others were still around so i was hopeful. Then more people started moving on and Scheer was trolling him on Twitter. I thought wow this Rich guy must be pretty lame. A few weeks later I tuned into a postgame after a major win and heard Rich talking NFL football. He wouldn't shut up about NFL. You can tell the others were thrown off but went with it anyway. After that I haven't tuned in since. F that chump.

I used to be a fan when he started the station 15-20 years ago. But he started working the national angle more and eventually left to a “bigger “ job.
Since he has come back, the show will s awful. Maybe “favorite “ part is when he says he wants to hear from the audience and proceeds to just keep droning on, never taking a call or, if he does, he will not give the caller any opportunity to talk.

He has a technique of repeating stuff in an attempt to make you believe what he is saying. Cowherd had picked up doing this too. Very annoying.

Anyone putting much faith in a parody account really needs help.

And if it was true and Rich was getting a delayed firing because of a toxic work environment.... and something bad happens with Rich between now ad then... the station would be opening itself up for a huge lawsuit for not acting immediately on this.

You don’t think those guys influence our fan base and the perception of our alumni and fan base nationwide? They absolutely do. So yeah it would be great if they would be far more civil.

Counterparts at other schools do the same for their alumni and fan bases.

Plenty of other UA people with audiences and influence are able to not attack others all the damn time

I think you’re more emotionally invested in this than the average fan. I certainly don’t give a shit. And I truly doubt anyone outside of Tucson and Phoenix does either. The idea that the back and forth somehow makes Arizona fans look bad “nationwide” is pretty funny.

To that end, sure, but the average fan is blissfully unaware of all this internet shit.

Outside of maybe knowing Luke and Scheer from podcast or radio, only us thoroughly hopelessly lost fans fallen down the Twitter or Message Board rabbit hole have a sense of their existence, and it’s highly skewed and warped since we are too close to the forest for the interactions.

This is the closest we have to a Tucson Radio thread, but I was pretty sad last month to turn to 1400AM and find out KTUC - Tucson's oldest radio station - has flipped their Oldies format to Talk Radio. Gone are all the relaxing yesteryear tunes that made great soundtrack for a Sunday drive. One of their best features was on SUnday mornings airing hymns recorded by 60s crooners and 70s country musicians.
