Hopefully anyone who wants to watch either took advantage of the $2 Peacock deal, or is fine illegally streaming.

Re: Indy Classic
This has been the best year ever for streaming the games at little or no cost.
Every game on the PAC-12 channel has been shown free on the PAC-12 International YouTube channel for those in Europe. Just set your VPN to England or France.
Everything on ESPN has been great on Streameast.
I find the sites on my PC, and cast to my TV.
Probably one game I couldn't find, but Fish had it.
At this point, I should apologize in advance to Machina to being a bad fan. But never apologize. It's a sign of weakness mister.

Re: Indy Classic
All right how are we gonna handle this Purdue game?
Let Edey eat and keep their guards in check?
Throw 3 7 footers with 5 fouls a piece at Edey?
I think Edey gets his 20 plus no matter what, if we can keep their guards from going off and we have a decent shooting night, I like our chances.
I think their guards have a tough time containing ours. I think Keshad can draw Edey out and open up the paint, not sure anyone else bothers Keshad. The more I think about it, the more I like our chances.
Also, Thanks northwestern for the game film.

Re: Indy Classic
5 out teams have not been successful getting Edey into a PnR or outside the paint. I look for him to stay there all game.
Edey has also shot an abnormal amount of FT’s in their big games. Seems the refs don’t like to see him pushed around or looking awkward.
Just play our game but really push tempo. Get our bigs really running down court

Re: Indy Classic
Edey is going to get his... Ballo needs to just play without fouling.
Re: Indy Classic
Pressure perimeter players and deny post entry passes. Ballo needs to be an immovable force. Fouling is a waste of time. Push tempo!
Re: Indy Classic
I've watched Purdue a bit this year and some last year (which is conceptually similar). Here's my critical aspects of playing Purdue and how I believe we match up. The overall theme is our size (which Edey does not encounter much) and also their perimeter play (and how we counter that)
1. Edey scoring. Obviously he scores a lot. But, our size can make it a lot harder than normal. If he scores 20, we're fine, 30, that's a problem. Make him work for it, don't foul him.
2. Rebounding. A huge aspect to their offense and Edey scoring is the offensive rebounds. Add Keshad, along with our size at center, plus the way our guards rebound, and we should be able to really limit the 2nd chances (relative to their normal). This will be huge.
3. Entry passes. They can really struggle with entries, see Alabama 1st half for example. We have to make it hard to get the ball down to Edey. And I think we can, because of...
4. Perimeter play. That's their biggest weakness, and if we can limit Edey to reasonable numbers (20/10 is probably fine), then their guards will have to play extremely well to win. And that is a strength of ours, we have lots of tough athletic defensive minded guys to throw at them. We are a lot more dynamic on the perimeter. They need to hit 3s, and we don't sag in help defense nearly as much this year, probably due to having better defensive players than before. So I like our ability to limit them there.
The 2 major wildcards are foul trouble and turnovers. We only had 8 against Wisconsin, I think we can see this team becoming more cohesive eery game. Foul trouble seems pretty self evident, we can't have Pelle pick up cheapies early like he has and we need to bigs to stay on the floor.
One thing I'm curious is how we handle Edey. 2 years ago vs Illinois, we didn't double Cockburn in the first half, let him get going, and kept the guards from getting too involved. Then in the 2nd half, doubled him every touch and the guards couldn't hit get themselves going after a quiet first half. I expect something similar, although I don't know if we will need to switch it up at halftime.

Re: Indy Classic
I definitely have major concerns with the double team. I have seen many teams give up wide open three after wide open three trying to deploy it. They have 5 players shooting over 44% from three. Pretty easy when you are wide open. Maybe we could sprinkle some in the second half when their perimeter players are gassed.
Re: Indy Classic
I think we are good enough to play him straight up. No doubling down since he will kick it out and they shoot well on open looks.
Have to pressure the post entry pass. Need to make it challenging at least

^^^^ Damn Richard Jefferson got blanked
Re: Indy Classic
Our advantage is their guards will struggle on defense against ours. We should get good penetration but will need to pull up for the short jumper and not try and take it all the way to the basket. They looked pretty bad at times vs Alabama.

One of my favorite all time dunks, when Rondae threw it down over that 7'5" guy on UCI.
Would love to see Keshad put Zach on a poster.

Re: Indy Classic
I also think if we can keep the pace up and make Edey run up and down the court, we will tire him out in the 2nd half.
Re: Indy Classic
Like Wisconsin coach Gard said, if we're (especially Pelle) are hitting threes, we cause really difficult problems for anyone.Alieberman wrote: ↑Fri Dec 15, 2023 9:27 am I also think if we can keep the pace up and make Edey run up and down the court, we will tire him out in the 2nd half.
Also, control of the defensive boards will be critical.

Biggest game of the year in college basketball and it’s stuck on a streamer whose nickname is the cock.
Haven’t missed a UofA game in years but I don’t have access yet to this channel and I am resisting signing up.
