Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Good article on chase (unfortunately lost in the Finals) but of course Yahoo needs to throw this in

Sadly at this point this is our programs brandInstead, Budinger forwent volleyball and solely focused on basketball at the University of Arizona — and, no, it wasn’t because Arizona offered him $10,000 a month to play for its program.

It is Yahoo after all and they along with ESPN have an agenda to set.Newportcat wrote:Good article on chase (unfortunately lost in the Finals) but of course Yahoo needs to throw this in

On top of it they link to a previous article that simply states all the speculation with "allegedly".

I'm ready to embrace this. I'd wear "A Payers Program" t shirt as long as it also has "They hate us cause they ain't us" on it. We're no different from ASU, TCU, or the big time schools in how we play the game. We just do it better than most.

Chase earned $7,000 for a second place finish. Winners got $10,000. Not much money out on tour!

Re: Chase Budinger
Chase had a very long 7 year NBA career considering his best season he averaged 9.8 PPG, and 3.7 RPG was his high another year, and his last year in Spain he averaged 6.8 PPG, so a long Euro career was probably not in his future. This way he at least gets to stay in shape and make expenses.

For a midlevel NBA career, he made 19 million.Merkin wrote:Chase had a very long 7 year NBA career considering his best season he averaged 9.8 PPG, and 3.7 RPG was his high another year, and his last year in Spain he averaged 6.8 PPG, so a long Euro career was probably not in his future. Hopefully he's managed that smartly and can pursue what he wants to pursue from here on. It's an underrated thing, that 5 mediocre NBA years can leave you set for life if you play it right.

If he stuck to volleyball he could have been one of the best to ever play the game and glad he is getting his chance now

Fuck it, we did pay and we currently pay. So fucking what. So kids got free cars or extra spending cash or their parents got jobs. Where is the crime in any of it? Ayton got $10k a month, so his parents probably could live better in a nicer place. Big fucking deal
Real crime is the NCAA president making millions per year off these kids who make millions but get no piece of it.
