Tuned in to the Oregon/USC game to watch basketball. Instead got a lecture on the greatness of Thomas Edison.

The other Pac teams' fan bases must hate his guts. He does nothing except talk about how awesome Sean, TJ, the team and our fan base are.77HoyaCat4Ever wrote:I love Bill Walton

I get pissed at him sometimes, but damn he's entertaining. His "act" of stupidity is perfection.
Re: Ban Bill Walton Petition
He's awesome, but i'm also a Grateful Dead fan and love all the references.
If he had a chance i think he would give the PAC12 POY to Korchek.

Repeated it during the ASU-UCLA game. Jordan got by on smarts, not athletic ability. I assured my son that Jordan was an incredible athlete.Jefe wrote:I truly hope his Jordan statements were an act. My two favorite moments:
1. Pasch is asking Harden questions. Harden answers them. Then Walton answers them in his usual long-winded way. Finally, Pasch says, "I'm interviewing him, not you."
2. Walton asks Harden about his Olympic experience. "Who were your teammates? Where were the Games?"
WTF?

Sometimes I think Bill Walton is just plain susceptible to injuries anywhere on his body. Like his brain.
Re: Ban Bill Walton Petition
It is a game and people eat it up. ESPN and Bill are getting exactly what they want, people paying attention and talking.

Arizona had just lost the previous Sunday, hence the tough draw. Things change.

I thought Walton had Gonzaga as the one seed.

Re: Ban Bill Walton Petition
If neither Gonzaga or Arizona (barring catostrophic losses) gets a 1 seed in the west, that is a GD joke.
Re: Ban Bill Walton Petition
So at this point a Gonzaga loss is bad for us, because it moves a non-Wetern team into the West as a one seed. So root for them. Root against Wisconsin and Villanova.

Re: Ban Bill Walton Petition
I don't care if we get UK in our region or not. Why not shoot for a Championship? To do that, we have to beat Kentucky. What does it matter what round we have to do it?
I remember some people thinking Kansas was an unbeatable juggernaut in 1997. If you want to win it, you have to beat those teams on the floor.

Re: Ban Bill Walton Petition
Can shoot for the championship either way. A Final Four is a signature achievement, especially being winless in the last four regional finals. Grr ...
Playing UK after that is achieved is far more desirable to me and doesn't alter NC chances.

Re: Ban Bill Walton Petition
Yea im fine w shooting for a title, but not having to play Kentucky until the final four or title game, and already having a final four in our back pocket is a nice consolation price if it doesn't happen.

Re: Ban Bill Walton Petition
Back on topic for a second ...
I think I prefer Ted Robinson with Bill on the Pac-12 Network games than Dave Pasch on the ESPN games. Ted is a genuinely good guy, more aligned with Bill and from the same generation. Ted just rolls with Bill's punches, has no issue letting Bill ramble on, and in return, Bill isn't as antagonistic or combative, and I think reigns himself in a bit while still providing his brand of "color" to the telecast. Last night I thought Bill made several good points about USC and where they are in their rebuilding process.
I like Pasch too, him and Ron Woolfley doing Cards games on the radio are a similar form of entertainment. But bible-thumping Pasch is too straight an arrow to put up with Bill's nonsense in good humor 100% of the time.
OK, returning to the hijack, if UA wins out, or even if they win one of the Pac-12 titles (regular season or tourney), they won't be in Kentucky's bracket. I think either Villanova, Notre Dame, Wisconsin or even Duke (with another 2 losses) will be a #2 in Kentucky's bracket, due to geography. If UA wins out (meaning an 11-game win streak), they'll be in the West, and likely as a # 1 seed, I still think H2H has to factor in at some point. But I get why so many, including Bill, think at this point UA is the 7th or 8th best team in the country and therefore could end up in Kentucky's bracket.

Not a Pasch fan. He asks some really dumb questions.

Re: Ban Bill Walton Petition
Could even be Utah. Ranked 9th and play us at home which would be a giant win. I expect a Utah vs Az final in Vegas. Winner of that will be huge.rgdeuce wrote:If neither Gonzaga or Arizona (barring catostrophic losses) gets a 1 seed in the west, that is a GD joke.
I also think Virginia is going to lose a couple games down the stretch.
