23 points. Losing to an Ivy. Just checking.
Kentucky isn't really that great a team, I mean they are heads and shoulders above everyone else but that does not make them a "great basketball team". They are a typical Cal team who is an overrated coach. They are pretty much Arizona on steroids.

It's really not a performance a team this talented can afford to have this late in the season, but prepare for more of the same at Colorado. And if so, goodbye conference title--and good luck.
In short, if we play like crap, we''re out. Ditto every other team.

Scored 27 in the second half against Georgia at home.

Led by 15 at halftime. Ended up winning by 9.

Ristić's 4-4 free throws only went in because he was fortunate enough not to miss. He might be the world's luckiest player, other than that he sucks donkey balls. Did Zeus fumble a pass tonight? This is the best I've seen him play at Arizona, by far. You can see him ooze with confidence and tenacity. The guy has picked it up at the right time. That one footwork dunk was just incredible.

Dusan was a lost puppy out there tonight. Got swallowed up by utahs size in a crowded paint and the magnitude of the game. Good learning experience for those two tonight though

Second half was the best half in Zeus' college career.

That is why we're back to a 1 seed. Clutch on the interior, Stanley or no Stanley.

Now it's Ashley having to play catch-up. The scouts have taken note. Better start hitting your throws Brandon.

Zeus puts together a really nice game in all facets, and it kept Ristic on the bench. Almost exactly like the UCLA game.

Dusan got worked when he was in the game tonight. There will be a day when Dusan Ristic is a go to post player for us. Maybe one more offseason of workouts? He has too much offensive IQ to not understand the defensive role. He'll get it. And he will be good.

But right now, Zeus needs 32-34 minutes and we need to go small with Ashley at the 5 for one or 2 minutes when the other team goes small. Unless we play both bigs simultaneously, there aren't a ton of Ristic minutes from here on out....

It is called being a realist.

As I said earlier in this thread, when Tarc plays aggressively and physical he becomes a much better player.

There were a couple of plays that he had last night that I don't think I'd ever seen from him before. Now when teams scout us they'll have to take into account Zeus isolated on the low block and out to 16 feet. Packing the defense into the lane all of a sudden isn't the most viable option.

What I really liked was how aggressive he continues to be on defense, especially hedging out on guards. He's so large that when he comes out with purpose with his hands up he effectively cuts off vision to 2/3rds of the court.

I was told in this very thread that he wasn't good at defense, and if someone thought he was good, then they didn't know what good defense was.

Ever notice that other teams usually send a second defender at Tarc when he gets it on the block. They don't do that for Ashley or Ristic. Coaches know he is a force

He absolutely deserved to be rated so highly out of HS. But unlike, say, AG or Wiggins or Okafor, guys whose impact was almost immediate and perhaps flashier, Tarc's impact has been gradual, but no less significant. Tarc's size and abilities are rare, and he's a major reason for this team's success.

Those guys (Wiggins, Okafor) are the one in a thousand recruits that make an impact like they have/had done. Zeus was never projected to be a high-octane scoring, shot-blocking phenom. His growth has continued since day 1 and he has played within the offense like every other 5* superstar has since they stepped on campus.

The numbers for any player on a Miller team will never blow your socks off, but the skills and development they receive and team success they achieve is far more important for the longevity of the respective professional careers. Players that understand that are a rarity nowadays and hard to find, but when you do and they buy in, you see a tough and team-oriented mindset, kinda like Coach Miller...

Your point?

The other bigs out of the top 30: (a class that supposed to be stacked with bigs)

2. Nerlens Noel
3. Kyle Anderson
4. Isaiah Austin
5. Steven Adams
7. Anthony Bennett
8. Alex Poythress
9. Kaleb Tarczewski
13.Sam Dekker
15. Grant Jerrett
21. Winston Shepard
23. Brandon Ashley
24. Perry Ellis
26. Dajuan Coleman
27. Tony Parker
29. Cameron Ridley
30. Mitch McGary

More than half of the list is still in college and half of the rest should be.
I hope you don't find it surprising that not all (in fact the majority) highly-rated players achieve elite success from the get-go.
