We were not allowed to bring a water bottle in with a cap for the top. The tops of the water's were confiscated. When we asked why, we were told cause the "caps could be thrown and potentially hurt someone".
I literally started laughing in her face. "A cap, what about me throwing the whole bottle?" I said. She was not amused.
Security guard was not too smart. No shocker.
A capped bottle full of water can be thrown and hurt someone. A bottle without a cap, even if fairly full, will lose contents as it is in flight and is less dangerous. I am pretty sure that is their rationale.
Exactly...I didn't have time to explain it to her...but we just laughed about her reason. Like, at least understand the excuses you are told to give.
But I do remember bringing some beer in...I don't remember what cup I brought it in.
But if beers are $12 at the game, they are the same outside the arena at the bars...so unless you are prepartying somewhere, it makes no sense to buy a round before going into the arena. Just my .02

They should have stacks of cups to pour beer in before you go in. And you could always spend $12 on a machine and hope someone comes buy to give you a few beer...my free beer always ends up costing more.

Last year we came up with a method for getting past the metal detectors and easy entry with some whiskey...go to the convenience store on the strip and buy the little disposable soft pouch margarita bags from the cooler...drink the margarita and keep the screw cap and pouch...refill said bag with Jack Daniels and screw on the small cap...stuff bag down the pants so as to look like a well endowed individual (and if they want to have a feel - then they are going to get a nice soft feel!) then enter the game and purchase large coke with extra ice to mix with the 12 ounces of pouch stash...mix and enjoy watching the Cats...Keep the small bag in pocket and ready to do all over again the next day. Oh and one more thing, BEAR DOWN!

Just need two tix for Saturday, don't care where. Are they starting at ODogg's $180 each?
Sent you the link for the rooms, but right now it looks like the best rate I'm showing for Mandalay Bay is $128 each weekend night. Looks like they've jacked the prices up quite a bit.
thanks, guys. interesting that asu's matchups are all teams that they've beaten during conference play. i guess all of their games will be revenge games for the other team, though i hope the pleasure is ours.
No question this is the best shot Miller has had to win the PAC12 tournament. The team is playing at a high level, the rest of the conference is down and Jordan Adams isn't playing.

Freaking Jordan Adams. He can't save them this year. Friday at 3pm. Let's end their season in fashion.
It would be sweet to see that ASU - UCLA game go to triple overtime. That being said, I think the Bruins have too much length for ASU, and ASU almost never wins outside of Wells Fargo.

Yup...q
12-27 in regular season road/neutral games last 3 years.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.
I'm going, baby. Got tickets and rooms. spending 550 Total for all access and rooms. Rooms might be less depending on a few things.
I don't even care if that's a good deal. Lot of firsts for me this year. First ASU / Arizona football game attended and now my first tourney. Graduated in '93 from Arizona so this was a long time coming.

I believe it was that way last year.

They want the better and more recognizable teams on Pac-12 Network so that people will want to subscribe to Pac-12 Network.

This has been set for months and months and has been this way for years. You must realize that contracts are in place for this years in advance.
LARRY!!!!!!!!!
Ok. So why did the 3 seed in the tournament get the preferred tv contracts in advance? Why not the 1 or 2? Makes no sense and reeks on incompetence
Actually it makes sense by a lot. Since the Big Ten, Big 12 ACC and SEC all have contracts with ESPN and CBS and ABC, there are not many timeslots available. That is why the #3 team plays on ESPN because it is in the available timeslot, which is super late on the east coast.
So change the time slots. It makes no sense. Basically Scott's strategy is "I guess I'll take whatever we can get...no point in fighting for exposure for our top team"

Then you would punish the #1 seed by playing late and not having as much rest.

It really is simple. Putting mediocre teams on channels that get casual viewers expands the conference visibility and putting really good teams on the Pac-12 Network drives people to watch that network if they can and want to subscribe if they currently can't.

Average attendance per session when Arizona is not among the teams playing: 9,813
Average when Arizona is playing: 12,963
The sessions sell 33% more tickets when Arizona is a team involved (I am sure this would be more if they had more seats). Of course everyone leaves after they play...
I think the "Arizona Effect" is right along what other schools saw in increased tickets sells this season. The sea of red is amazing.
