I don’t understand either of those lines except that I think Vegas takes into account the betting interest amongst people who haven’t watched college basketball all year.
Probably very true. I look at the odds to win the championship as a barometer. I saw AZ actually had captured more of the betting publics money as the #2 vegas choice(probably due to the better odds) but Gonzaga was still their top choice.

Vegas knows more than the committee like you said and they wouldn’t worry about their TV revenue by creating drama through upsets and bad matchups

South Dakota St vs Providence is a much higher level game. SDSU is a good team. Let's see Providence squeak this one out.

I mean, admittedly, this is just nerd stats, but Kenpom backs both of those upset calls, if only by a relatively thin margin.

they are.....if they can somehow find a way to win this one, some how, i think they could get on a roll and go to the sweet 16 maybe even further but they have their hands full right now.

Colorado St is very well coached and razor sharp.

There's a talent and size disparity out there, but Colorado State is playing like it's March and Michigan is playing like it's early December.

To your points, Providence has the 29th best odds to win the tournament which makes them about a 7 seed which I agree with.

South Dakota St had the 49th best odds which is about a 12 seed which is one up.

Granted some of that may be influenced by other teams in their region but Providence is over seeded IMO and South Dakota St can flat out shoot it and is better than a typical 13

Say what you want about Michigan, they have the physicality that can give other teams problems. We smacked them because we have guys just as big, long and physical, but CSU isn't near as imposing.

Long way from over, though.

It's easy to forget that Michigan had a top 5 recruiting class this year and brought back Dickinson. This is why they were ranked so high to begin the season. Like Memphis, they rely on some young players and have had an unsteady ride. But talent is talent. Both Michigan and Memphis can ruin a lot of people's brackets.
