Have to wonder how well ticket sales went for the red/blue. Seems by the end of the first week skillet of the program would tweet that it is sold out

Tommy boy can be as dull as dishwater for all I care as long as he can recruit, coach and win ball games.
Being dull makes recruiting harder, which makes winning harder, which makes recruiting harder. So he better make up for being boring by being a phenomenal coach.

Isn't Mark Few more Boring? He tends to still recruit just fine. In fact, he lost his best recruiter last year. What happened to him??

I think Tommy will be just fine. With all the crap this program has gone through the past few years, we will survive.

Patience.

But If he is super dull, will he be able to recruit? A Man Named Jedd is quite the promoter.
He gets his name and U of A out there.

CSM had the gravitas to where he didn’t need to be tweeting and such all of the time. (Although I bet he would have increased his presence soon)
Tommy Boy is a no name, he needs to to everything he can so people know him when he calls.

Notice what I said about being a phenomenal coach? Few didn’t always recruit at the level he is now. How did he raise his recruiting? By winning through great coaching.

Reading comprehension is essential.

I mean, I'm not sold on Lloyd, but how entertaining is Mike Kryzyzewski, Bill Self or (was) Roy Williams?

Maybe Cal is entertaining, but the majority of really good CBB recruiters aren't always particularly engaging. There's just multiple ways to do it.

True, but it’s not 1990 anymore.
So much has changed.
It used to take legwork to get to recruits.
Thanks to Al Gore, things are different.
Recruits want followers so they can get NIL 💰.
I’m not saying he has to be Bob Hope but I’d like him to gin up some excitement.

If I were Tommy Boy I would be trying to get the Tucson & Phoenix media to adore me. Make tons of friends. Slap lots of backs. Give them little tidbits of inside juice to make their jobs easier.

I definitely wouldn’t be actively flying under the radar.

I agree, Lute was pretty boring. There was scoreboard, but there's more. In the post-game interviews, he basically read from the stat sheet. So that when he said something that wasn't on the stat sheet, it was epic. One time, his hair got messed up, and we'll never forget it. Lute was really, really good at being boring.

So, I'd add that to the list of options for Tommy Lloyd. Be a great coach. And either don't be boring, or be really, really good at being boring.

So everyone misses the media attention that Miller brought on the program the last few years? Also, we can't forget about all those recent big time wins. Look, I think Miller got a bad deal and would have kept him for at least another year but damn he is a big reason for the current state of the program.

What I’m saying is CSM had been a winning coach at a mid major and had worked with a lot of people. And he was a relentless worker.

CTL hasn’t been a head coach in decades. His recruiting base is Europe.
I’m wouldn’t hurt to try and gin up some excitement.

I haven't lost hope that Steve Kerr will be the head coach of AZ hoops someday. He always gives strange, equivocating answers whenever he's asked about it. He's already won rings as a pro player and coach, and I don't doubt that he wants to stay with GS for a while longer. But he's not that old (55), and it's clear he has a special place in his heart for UofA. Maybe I'm delusional, but we'll see.

TBH, they look equally skinny. Steve Kerr only looks a little broader bc he has his arm extended around Kriisa's shoulder.

The biggest difference in the 2 inches in height. My uncle met Steve Kerr and that's the first thing he mentioned, that he looks small on the court next to a bunch of 6'9-10 guys, but you meet hin on an elevator and realize 6'3 is actually pretty tall.
