Bowen blew me away in that game. Very impressive. Not much I can say about Ayton that wouldnt be incredibly cliche. I just dont see that kid having many "quiet" nights in an Arizona uniform. Even on an off night, i still see him Ryan Andersoning teams on his way to a double double.

Not really shocking news, given his prior relationship with the coach there.

Yeah. We're also in contention for a few top 2018 PG's, so I assume that plays in too.

Arizona and Creighton are seen as the current frontrunners for Bowen, and the last three Crystal Ball predictions have him picking the Bluejays.
Joe Pasternack, who left Arizona’s coaching staff to be the head coach at UC Santa Barbara, was listed as Bowen’s lead recruiter by 247Sports
, but Bowen says he talks to Arizona assistant Book Richardson and head coach Sean Miller “a lot”.
“They’re supposed to be hiring another guy and I’m not sure who they’re going to be hiring,” Bowen said.
Bowen also said he talks with Arizona players frequently plus has signee DeAndre Ayton in his ear.
“That’s a big thing for me
, being able to be a freshman and make a big impact on the team,” he said. “Being surrounded by high-level guys as well.”

Sure sounds like Arizona's still in it.

If it were Alkins or Bowen, it would be win win. Hopefully it is, but we are in the uncertain times.

I would think it was crazy talk. We don't have the minutes for Bowen, Trier, Alkins, Randolph and Smith. That's even if Smith and Randolph get very few.

Yeah. Well, Alkins is the one we want. If he and Trier are back...wow.

Hell Trier returning makes getting Bowen at all crazy talk at this point.

Four-star Southern California 2018 power forward Shareef O'Neal has committed to the Arizona Wildcats, according to an early-morning tweet from his travel club.
O'Neal, the son of former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal, retweeted a congratulations for the decision by his California Supreme team that was posted at 1:44 a.m. Wednesday.
He had also been considering USC, UCLA, Kentucky and his father's former school, LSU, before it fired coach Johnny Jones.

Whatever. We know what we're getting with Ayton: a high level big man with serious game and potential. If he has a good summer, stays healthy, and hits the ground running this fall, he's going to be one of the best players in the country.

I could maybe see Bamba. It's just whatever ur taste is. Do u want a shot blocker who can get pushed around a little and is a little rawer on O, or a less defensive presence who can impose his will more and step out a little farther?
On no planet is Sexton a better prospect than Ayton. The NBA draft will reflect that clearly. Unless Sexton improves tremendously he won't go anywhere top 5. Ayton can't bomb enough to drop out of top 5 of draft.
The top 3 kids are clearly on another level. Not sure how Sexton > Ayton can even be serious.

Worth noting that Rivals and ESPN have him as a 5 star, top 20 recruit. Only Scout, which hasn't updated since last September, has him lower.

Fwiw, Fultz wasn't even in the top 5 of most 2016 rankings, and he's likely going #1. Josh Jackson was probably the most accurately rated player in the '16 class. Or maybe Ball.

me too
interesting, it was said elsewhere that the rankings arent created and/or slotted for who is the best player now as a senior in high school, or who will be the best player in college, but rather who has the best game and talent coupled with the most upside, potential, and motor/drive to be the best player years from now -- whatever that means.

I thought it was so that "recruiting analysts" can have continued employment.

Lol. On no planet is Sexton a better prospect than Ayton. None. Ayton's potential is thru the roof. And I'm actually high on Sexton he will be a 10-year starter in NBA.

Here's to hoping Cam Johnson makes it out of UK on Wednesday without committing.
I think our best hope is to get Rawle back, because its looking all more likely that we aren't going to land Johnson or Bowen.

Johnson is from the same hometown as UK Coach John Calipari, and his father has known UK assistant coach Kenny Payne for more than 30 years.
Other schools on Johnson’s list of finalists also have ties to the family. Johnson’s father played alongside Arizona Coach Sean Miller at Pitt, and TCU Coach Jamie Dixon recruited and coached Johnson at Pitt before leaving the program before this past season.
Johnson would fill a couple of holes for the Wildcats next season, giving the team a proven outside shooter at the college level and some experience, an area where they’ll be lacking in the 2017-18 campaign.
UK lost every scholarship player from this past season’s backcourt, and freshman shooting guard Hamidou Diallo announced Sunday that he has entered his name in this year’s NBA Draft — without hiring an agent — opening up the possibility that he could leave Lexington without ever playing a game for the Wildcats.

Only possibilities as of now are Duval (not going to happen) Bowen (unlikely) and Cam (unlikely.

Agree. Hopefully we find a surprise on the transfer route or we very well need Akot to reclassify. Even tho he isn't ready.
