Brandon Williams can be D-Will version 2, in so many ways. He would be the face of the program. He would be the guy to lead us through dark times to the other side. He would have huge exposure here (compared to Oregon or Gonzaga). We just need to convince him of that.

Lol if you say so.
Oregon has Brown and Pritchard, UCLA has Hands and Wilkes, Gonzaga has Perkins and Norvell. It's doubtful any of these guys are leaving early. Where else is BW considering?
Brown is a wing and likely NBA bound and you can argue Pritchard is Oregon's problem right now. I'd play both Pritchard and Williams at the same time and Altman would too. I'm not considering UCLA at all in this. Zaga does have Perkins, but Norvell can easily slide over to the 3. So at 2 of the 3 you named he could and very likely easily start.
That's quite high expectations you're giving BW. He's clearly a good player, but talented freshmen have an uphill battle to start over older, more experienced players, especially guys who started throughout the previous season. It's really only the Aytons and Bagleys of the world who can come in and start from day one. By some rating services, BW isn't even among the top 10 PGs in his class. He's good, but is he as awesome as you're making him sound? Is he a program-changer? I don't think so. But at AZ, he'd arguably be more central to our success next season than he would at other schools.
By some rating services you mean ESPN, the one "service" that barely watches these kids and when they do it's during the summer when Williams didn't play this past year good call. I'm not saying he's going to be all world, but he's absolutely better than Payton Pritchard and would be great in Mark Few's 3 guard offense, but sure he'd have an uphill battle at those two schools i guess.

I’ve tried (in vain) to get dc to avoid the personal attacks and keep the focus on the thread’s topic. We’re on the same side, dude.

BW has an opportunity at AZ he may not have at other schools. All I’m saying.

This is a good idea.

I'm thinking we need to stay away from an unproven freshman at the PG position again and maybe focus on a solid TJ-style transfer we know is going to produce.

If Miller can pull these two, then we're back on track. We can play a more athletic style and be Ron's better defensively. I don't think people realize how much Ristic and PJC impacted our defense in a negative way.

I think Randolph & Akot can really develop if they don't rush and declare too early. Hell, Devonte Graham avgd just 5 points his freshman year.

Everything I've seen/read/heard indicates Jordan Brown to Cal. Crazier things have happened though.

Really up in the air with BWill. Maybe when both Trier and Alkins officially declare we will know more? Im not sure what her's waiting for. Conformation from Miller that he's coming back for sure? The FBI Tapes?

Why does it seem like no one wants Jordan Brown? The best player in California (ratings wise) and his main suitors involve St. Johns and Louisiana Lafayette. Seems like an odd recruitment to me.

It is an odd recruitment, but it has nothing to do with anyone "not wanting him."

He's trying to see if he can get into Stanford, if he can then that's where he'll go. If he can't then Arizona has a chance, but would have to beat out Gonzaga for him. I think the Cal ship has sailed.

No BW means grad transfer PG because Akinjo won't start and Barcello Ball would be disastrous. Gotta get him here, but hopefully we don't have to hire his dad like USC did for Eric Mobley's sons.

UCLA's in home wasn't going to have Alford. Not sure if it was cancelled because of that or if it is because there just isn't enough interest.

When Williams takes his visit to Oregon, 5* SF Louis King will take his official at the same time

Without a doubt, but it is a bit baffling the kid would even look at ASU on his own dime. The program has been garbage for decades, and after their surprising start this season, they played terribly in conference. What is the appeal? Hurley has his Adidas recruiting connection which landed him a 5 star, but if Williams loves Arizona, why would he go to a lesser program in state after seeing Miller re-stabilize his own program with assurances that his entire freshman class will be returning next season?

Sure...but he already visited us, no?

When a kid starts taking unofficial visits a tier down from his ability to destination spots? I mean...it has to be a little realistic to get the visit "hosted". But there are more than a few kids who verbal too early and start hearing about their friends' visits and re-open. Or wish they could.

I posted it in the FBI thread about a week ago, but there was a tweet from a LA Times reporter that the FBI is looking into an ASU assistant coach. The exact tweet was "Among the people the subpoena requested information on: Arizona State assistant Anthony Coleman. He played for Long Beach State and previously worked for Adidas."

https://twitter.com/nathanfenno Tweet on Mar. 16

I have not seen this covered anywhere. Not sure if Williams has heard about this, but to me, it seems like this would be a red flag.

Kyree walker played in the aau adidas circuit in Cali and when hillcrest prep went to adidas he moved to az and committed to asu who is now sponsored by adidas and gave his dad a coaching job. His dad also has a seat on the bench at asu games follow the money it'll lead to crazy things. Everyone is involved to some extent

yeah...elite players know the game...and the game.

Not sure they give a shit about message board posts. They want to go where they can be featured, improve, be seen, and be coached (optional for kids choosing UCLA).

Whatever players choose to come here will get a lot of coverage for sure, especially in Maui.
