Great Potential News CCC!!!
Nah. Michigan was going to lose 2 or 3 of its best players. I bet he just got tired of the roster instability and systemic corruption (not necessarily at UM, but plenty of other places) in college hoops. Why not go get paid for a few years? If he still feels good after three or four seasons of weak finishes in Cleveland, he can coach a few more years of college. Reminds me of what Mike Montgomery did a little. No one thought he'd ever leave Stanford.YoDeFoe wrote:This team is so crazy. 2017-19 Arizona Wildcat basketball made John Beilein quit college hoops.

Like creating space for them or other things?ChooChooCat wrote:If I was a betting man I'd say we land both, but there's still some things at play to be worked through, so don't go celebrating yet.StickItInTheyFace wrote:Any news on how Brown & Baker's visits went?
Least of our concerns. Other things on Brown and Baker's end. Baker will take all his visits after being lied to by Kentucky, so he wants to make 100% sure this time. Brown will be a well thought out decision and figuring out which priorities matter.prh wrote:Like creating space for them or other things?ChooChooCat wrote:If I was a betting man I'd say we land both, but there's still some things at play to be worked through, so don't go celebrating yet.StickItInTheyFace wrote:Any news on how Brown & Baker's visits went?
Yes, but that doesn't sound like that's the case. If he decides he wants to play next season no matter what he probably stays at Nevada.baycat93 wrote:If Brown insists on playing this coming season, does Arizona take him?
Maybe 3.prh wrote:Baker is sit 1 play 2 correct?
Getting that extra year would be a big deal...fingers crossed that is the case.Spaceman Spiff wrote:Maybe 3.prh wrote:Baker is sit 1 play 2 correct?
This Memphis class reminds me of that Rabb/Brown class at Cal a few years back.Chicat wrote:Boogie Ellis to Memphis
Except like 10 recruits. They not only have a ton of talent, a ton of players.Beachcat97 wrote:This Memphis class reminds me of that Rabb/Brown class at Cal a few years back.Chicat wrote:Boogie Ellis to Memphis
I know the NCAA is stupid, but I'd like to think he would have a good shot. He'll have missed two full years of 5 this way, so I'd like to see him have a shot at actually playing 4.goslingswagg wrote:Getting that extra year would be a big deal...fingers crossed that is the case.Spaceman Spiff wrote:Maybe 3.prh wrote:Baker is sit 1 play 2 correct?
I think that's an easy approval when the time comes if Baker and Arizona both want him to get that extra year.Spaceman Spiff wrote:I know the NCAA is stupid, but I'd like to think he would have a good shot. I'd really hope so. Missing a full year with injury should be a no brainer medical redshirt, and his transfer shouldn't invalidate it.ChooChooCat wrote:I think that's an easy approval when the time comes if Baker and Arizona both want him to get that extra year.Spaceman Spiff wrote:I know the NCAA is stupid, but I'd like to think he would have a good shot. My thoughts as well. That bridge will be crossed when he gets there.YoDeFoe wrote:I'd be surprised if he planned to be at Arizona for four years anyways though. If he's here for one to sit and two to play (after spending two years at UK), that's probably the max he'd like to spend before earning a paycheck.
UW may end up with Jaden McDaniels, it's up in the air between them and UK at the moment. Oregon may land Admon Gilder, the A&M transfer. There's a few other things going on as well, but those are the big two at the moment.Beachcat97 wrote:Maybe not the right thread for this, but which other Pac teams are still tinkering with their '19 rosters? Can we already get a lay of the land for next season, or is there still too much in flux? Isn't UW still chasing some big fish? How about Oregon?

I just have seen a lot of his highlight tapes and some tape of his from UK and I struggle to see a professional basketball player...I mean I'm sure he could make decent $$ in Europe but even big time Europe ball seems far-fetched for him. He is a very below average athlete for high major college bball.ChooChooCat wrote:My thoughts as well. That's great, but that doesn't mean he'd want to spend 6 years in college and not making any sort of money. Maybe he does though? That bridge will be crossed when he's in that position. He can't even appeal for an extra year until the end anyways.goslingswagg wrote:I just have seen a lot of his highlight tapes and some tape of his from UK and I struggle to see a professional basketball player...I mean I'm sure he could make decent $$ in Europe but even big time Europe ball seems far-fetched for him. Of course, it's all a moot point because it's up to him. Only point I'm making is that if he does go pro early, it would be more of a Chase Jeter situation vs. him being a valuable commodity as a pro prospect.ChooChooCat wrote:That's great, but that doesn't mean he'd want to spend 6 years in college and not making any sort of money. Didn't he already commit to Gonzaga last week?ChooChooCat wrote:UW may end up with Jaden McDaniels, it's up in the air between them and UK at the moment. Oregon may land Admon Gilder, the A&M transfer. There's a few other things going on as well, but those are the big two at the moment.
Doutrive can be a really, really good player if he stays 4 years. He’s a great rebounder and could also become a solid defender. He’ll be a nightmare matchup for opponents.YoDeFoe wrote:Miller gonna kick out everyone from last years team but Williams and Jeter
Not fired, but they won’t be receiving a paycheck anymore so it’ll just work itself naturally

I'd guess it's Baker's eligibility overlapping with DD. Only reason it would affect Dylan is scholarship count, DD is count and playing time. Not to mention the extra-curricular stuff Choo has alluded to.Chicat wrote:Why wouldn’t it be Smith’s spot Baker is taking?NYCat wrote:Guess Doutrive is gone. Brown could be next and Smith would go.
Sounds like Doutrive is gone and isn't due do to his playChicat wrote:Why wouldn’t it be Smith’s spot Baker is taking?NYCat wrote:Guess Doutrive is gone. Brown could be next and Smith would go.
