AZ nowhere to found. I love it
Tourney hopes rests on the performance in Maui. I probably agree with Katz here. Arizona doesn't have that many Q1, Q2 opportunities, they would basically have to go somewhat close to running the table in the conference to get in if they do poorly at Maui.

Though I disagree that Arizona isn't even considered a contender for the tournament.

In the end if the conference only puts 3-4 teams in the tournament and one is in the play in games, Arizona getting in could be tough.

Lunardi needs to watch some exhibition games...both Washington and Oregon barely got things going against pretty shallow Div.II teams...I haven't seen any UCLA stuff yet, but what I watch for early is teams that can defend, any team that does not defend against mediocre lower division teams are not going to go very far period...and in that vein the Beavs are actually going to be one of the better teams in the pac this year.
Washington did blow out Nevada in a secret scrimmage, but it doesn't mean anything.

Didn't they almost lose their exibition last night against Seattle Pacific? Might not mean anything but they were not overpowering.

Also saw Oregon and watched Bol Bol shoot multiple 3's. That was interesting that he had the green light

I'm guessing the Cats finish 3rd or 4th in the conference in the regular season. SOS won't do much for our tournament resume unless we have a really good showing in Maui. I think we get into the NCAA tournament by winning the Pac 12 Tournament. Not much room for error this year but I think Arizona outperforms expectations. Miller will spend quite a bit of the year with his jacket off but it's years like this where he really shows what a great coach he is.

I see us in as an 11 seed on Joe Schmo's bracket, he must have updated it or thinks that we are Arizona St since they are not in it and are listed as the last 4 byes.

I can see that. This last game made me realize that this team will take a lot of patience. Brandon Williams is very fun to watch and should provide a spark for young team. Boy Smith & Lee need to play better and more focused. Barcello was surprising and i think he'll do just that this year. Surprise a lot of people

Don't worry, if we beat isu, we'll get boomed by Gonzaga and then Auburn (who'll lose to Duke).

From a schaudenfreude standpoint, the only good thing I can see in this Duke situation is that they are so obviously the NCAA champs-in-waiting that if it doesn’t happen for some weird reason it will be the kind of thing that will make me chuckle years from now as I fondly remember the choke job.

Well 3, Oregon is an 8 as well.

What staggers me too is ISU is a 6, we beat them on a neutral floor and...wtf?

Alternative facts not (and never will be) in evidence. Bristol still assuming the Cats are dirty and will receive a postseason ban.

Fuck ESPN, but I'm okay calling Arizona a bubble team right now. Finish the non-conference season with wins over Baylor and Alabama, and we're likely in barring a meltdown in conference.

And it would have to be *some* meltdown. If we beat Bama and Baylor and go 12-6 or better in league play, I think we're in. It would help, of course, to have a win or two vs. the best teams in the Pac, whoever they end up being.

Nevada was about 30 seconds away from going out in the 2nd round, then again the 3rd round. I thought they were overrated and last night makes me believe that more.

What a difference a week makes.
In the NET rankings, we are # 62 behind Oregon, ucla, Colorado, and the highest ranked Pac 12 team ASU @#42. As of now, no one gets an at large out of the Pac. :-(

"No bids for you!"

We are #48 in kenpom, behind only Oregon @#38. Wasn't usc #36 last year when they got snubbed?

But I still say, share of the pac12 reg season ship and we play in the championship game. Just not sure if that gets us in the tourney this year anymore.

But the Pac is fighting for its postseason lives!

Short of winning the Pac tourney, or posting like a 16-2 mark in league play, why would any of us feel confident of hearing our name called on Selection Sunday? All it takes is one loss to WSU or Cal, and we're sort of done.

True. But OOC wins seem to get more important each year. If you don't have at least one sexy OOC win to hang your hat on in March, and you're a bubble team, you're probably not getting in. If Iowa State and/or UConn are ranked in March, it would help.

I mean, listen to NY... he's had it mapped out since day one. Given the relative weakness of the conference, we needed to win certain games in OOC and we failed to do so. Not a tournament team, baring a storming of the Pac-12. It is what it is.
