Koloko seems to be showing signs of comfort on the floor.

Was a little disappointed that J. Brown was so up and down.

Arizona is apparently recruiting a Pitt transfer...........and we are already over the scholarship limit.

This tells me that Miller expects multiple players not to return.

Tubelis bros?

Do you know what position the Pitt guy plays?

EDIT : 6’6” wing.

Didn’t see your link.

"Toney is originally from Jasper, Alabama and was a four-star prospect coming out of high school. Before ultimately choosing Pitt, the 6-foot-6 wing was deciding between Virginia Tech, Charlotte, Connecticut, and East Carolina, three of which are again pursuing him"

Sounds like he might be a replacement for Mathurin and/or Dalen Terry

Well, Ira’s done. Sorta doubt TB comes back.

Are we really talking about losing critical pieces from next year’s anticipated roster? Because I am so tired of this.

Also doubt TB returns, but he doesn’t affect our scholarship limit. We are still over by one regardless. I could live with losing one or two of the following:

Batcho
Baker (not ideal)
T. Tubelis (move to preferred walk-on?)
Goerener
Terry (also not ideal)

Core returners i want to keep:

Akinjo
Kerr
Mathurin
A. Tubelis
Koloko
J Brown

then add in the incoming players, and i will be excited for next year.

We absolutely need Baker and Dalen Terry to return. We need Bakers scoring and Terry brings a toughness I like. He doesn’t back down and can be a good perimeter defender I think

I don't know if the off-season will shore up our defensive deficiencies. I like our roster but still feel we're lacking toughness inside. If Jordan Brown can go from a decent Pac 12 forward to a very good or great forward -- then we've got something special. I had higher expectations for him from all the media attention that goes with being a McD's AA. That may not be fair to him because he had a decent season.

He started the season as our Gold Jersey winner and absolute starter. By mid-season he was a valuable and necessary sixth man. I don't know what his ceiling is for this team. If this is as good as he gets -- then we need help either from a transfer or recruiting. When we lost to UCLA, Oregon, USC and Colorado it was because we got beat on the glass and couldn't stop opponents from scoring inside. If Toubelis and Koloko can help close that gap with another off-season of conditioning then maybe we have the horses. I'm skeptical.

Mathurin's off-season is really critical. He could be our go-to-guy next season when we absolutely need a bucket. Athletically he's got all the tools but struggled down the stretch. His defense also needs a ton of improvement.

I'm hoping that having an older team will be a huge difference maker.

If you asked me today regardless of knowing Sean Miller's future, Jemarl Baker probably isn't back next season.

I'm not understanding where Baker would go. He's not pro-ready, unless he wants to play overseas, and why would he transfer again?

Gotta make some money overseas before he gets forced to medically retire. Guy can’t stay healthy. He has a small window available to play overseas and make money playing ball. Should take advantage while he can. I like Baker, but his role would shrink and would risk another injury.

"James" Brown surprised me a bit, but looking at his stats, 9 points and 5 boards in under 20 minutes a game is good 6 man stats.

"I feel good" about it.

He also had a 25 point game and against USC in our biggest win he went for 19 and 13.

He had his moments -- with the right match ups.

Brown didn't get significant minutes in other games. The dilemma with him is that Koloko is a superior defender because of his length and Tubelis is a superior offensive player because he can shoot from the perimeter and run the floor. Where does Brown fit for next season?

Brown is a viable starter if our perimeter players are better defenders. If not, then we need Koloko or else opponents will shred us.

In a perfect world, Koloko needs to improve his offensive skills and Brown needs to improve his defense. Our smaller guards really were exposed -- and in turn made Brown's mediocre defense a liability. You can only hide so many sub-par defenders on the floor at one time.

Hopefully everyone will improve their all-around games by next season and be better defenders.

Damn. I understand that this is best for Ira.
-But I'll say this: I love seniors in college basketball. Ira deserved a packed house with his family and a framed jersey, and a couple more tournament appearances.

-The NCAA failed a kid who did everything right in that regard. Grew up, got better, overcame absolute hell, and became a leader. We are lucky to have Ira as an Arizona grad.

Shame on ESPN and the NCAA for dragging this crapola out since Iras' FRESHMAN YEAR.

Pasternak recruited him to AZ, I would love to see him finish his career at UCSB where he could dominate on one of the nicest campuses in his backyard. Pepperdine also fits the same mold with Romar there.

I live in SB county (although northern, so not a neighbor of Oprah or Meghan) and saw a blurb where Pasternak has won more games in his first 4 years than any other UCSB coach ever.

They had some good games too there in the Thunderdome over the years. Beat UNLV there once or twice if I recall years ago.
