not disciplinary.

a month ago, i wondered if maybe elliott's old hs coach (now hc at tolly's old school, trying to build the program) was getting into his ear a little bit about PT. but that doesn't look like it, based on his bench antics. my new guess is that elliott's hoverboard burst into flames and is coping with the ptsd and learning how to use his legs for transportation again.

Maybe I'm reading way too much into this all but if the kid is struggling with mental health issues I have absolutely zero problems with CSM benching him but also keeping him around and giving him a chance to work through it. Even Rat Face at Duke did that with one of his players.

Or maybe I missed the boat entirely on this.
This is what is appears like to me.

He does get the best seat in the house to watch the games, so has that going for him. Same with the walk ons.

If it is mental health issues, he is at the age where the symptoms become more apparent.

He has missed 6 games and counting and has only played in 8 games. I would shut him down for the year and apply for a medical redshirt. If of course, it is medical related.

it's sensitive and could be damaging. im not trying to hold anything over anyone's head but sometimes not sharing is better than sharing.

out of respect for the parties involved I won't comment on the matter further.

Same here, fun speculating, but I can certainly wait until Pitts and CSM make an official announcement, and if it's never, that's fine too.

I hope the kid comes back. He's been a part of the team and could be a big factor come March/ April.

I'll take it down if you think it's damaging. I will anyway. But you'll need to zap the one where you quote me.

When you do, I'll zap this.

In the meantime, we're just a bunch of goofs on the Internet, Mr. Pitts.

It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:

I think Pitts pretty much knows his role and future with the team. He's bright enough enough to see it without being told.

He has not scored more than 4 points in the 7 games he played this year, and has not scored more than 8 points in the last 20 or so games last season.

You can't have a 2/3 wing player out there who can't score, especially when Trier has picked up his defense.

And Simon has shown he can take 5-10 minutes a game as well.

Oh well, no idea of what it could be, but best wishes to Elliott, whatever it is. A good kid. Solid.

I hope he overcomes whatever challenge he is facing and manages to complete his studies and graduate. That's more important than trying to rush back and play again. The team seems like it will be fine even if he is done for the year.

That is what I figured. Even though I am extremely curious, I am trying not to make any more public guesses.

Let me know if anyone has an issue with locking this. From public and private notes I've received, it seems to be the consensus that no good can come from any further speculation.

Let us all agree then not to speculate, and just leave this open for any news about Pitts.

Any objections to locking it and then reopening when news comes along?

I don't really see the reason to do so, it's just usual message board fodder, but it won't hurt anybody to lock it either.

There are reasons the speculation could become a negative so I'm going to go ahead and lock it. If anyone has a compelling reason it should be unlocked, please PM me. Thanks
