In fact, he wouldn't pass your daughter off to any other member of the team to get their picture taken with her. ;)

ESPN Mock Draft 2.0

6. Stanley Johnson - Charlotte Hornets
Analysis: The Hornets have a franchise-caliber point guard in Kemba Walker and no shortage of big men with Al Jefferson and young guys Cody Zeller and Noah Vonleh. They need a big-time wing, and Johnson brings a physical toughness to the game in addition to scoring prowess. Johnson still needs to work on his perimeter shot, but he's a guy who can do just about everything else on the floor.

Typical Goodman garbage. Stanley is shooting 43% from deep this year.

Marc (New Hampshire)
Hi Chad, you seem to be very down on Stanley Johnson so far. He was your top wing coming into the season and 5th or 6th on your board but now you have him dropping all the way to 12th. What has Justise Winslow shown that Johnson hasn't so far? Johnson is actually shooting better from 3 (39% to 38%) and averages more points and rebounds per 40 minutes. Why are scouts so impressed with Winslow but down on Johnson right now?

Chad Ford (1:32 PM)
I'm not really down on him. The Mock takes into account team needs and that pushed him down just a bit. On the Big Board Johnson is still a Top 10 prospect at No. 9. I think Winslow is a better athlete and better defender and has just drawn more buzz from scouts early. But Johnson is having a good year and I think there will be a lot of heavy debates between Winslow, Johnson and Mario Hezonja. All three worthy of Top 10 picks.

I've met Chad Ford and talked to him for a while in Hawaii a few years ago, I was staying with his next door neighbors. He is a super nice guy, took the time to talk to me and share his story of getting into scouting. Let me just say he isn't a basketball guru or great scout, he was also a professor at BYU Hawaii last time I checked. He's a fan who had a successful website ESPN bought and hired him after. He does watch a lot of game tape, but not in person. I personally would trust JMark's scouting takes over Chad's any day.

A proud papa moment-

My 7 year goes out front to shoot some hoops by himself this afternoon. He runs in the house about 20 minutes later calling for me.

"Dad, Dad... I just scored 40 points. I was totally Stanimal"

If you're wearing the gold jersey in practice you had the most practice points the week before (not exactly sure on the time period, but I know that's the jist of it).

Basically, it means Stanley is buying in 100% and killing it in practice, which is an EXCELLENT sign

Stanley and the team are gonna love this.

Okay, now's the time. Producers, put in a directional mike and train it on Stan and Brown. Would pay 10% extra on my TV bill to hear as well as see this matchup with audio. I think there's going to be some classic talk.

Thanks for posting this. I just read the article. And while I'm sure Brown was answering questions blah blah blah like he does every week with the media, not a stellar display of that suposed I.Q. .
I mean, that's just dumb on Brown's part. Dumb.

Dude is the real deal. No question. Honestly can't remember a freshman who has come in and been asked to play the type of D he's been asked to master and then hitting the outside shot and the inside all while playing multiple positions. Bibby? Bayless? I don't know. This guys seems to have been asked to do and master much more. But maybe thats just me. I guess Bibby would be the closest if we get to that Final Four than Stan earns his place in the history books of Arizona Basketball. Time will tell. Can't believe it's only game 19 with 20 up next. Like 18 more to go. Gotta believe TJ wants to be a part of getting HCSM his first Final Four.
