Ąžuolas Tubelis

Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
He missed a view bunnies. He will be fine. The whole team especially the guards were troublesome. The guy that has been worrisome is Pelle. He has not played offense well since the beginning of the season. He will need to step up his offensive game.
Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
This guy was nails against Indiana. Is one of our best TRUE power forwards in a long time.
Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
He really frustrates opposing teams. Major props!

He is so good at what he does. Damn near unstoppable if you let him create with his left hand.

He had so many clutch putbacks against the Vols. Stud.

Well poop, is getting drafted this year?
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Bet he keeps that one!
He also used his right hand on another fast break in the first half.

Yep. No one remembers more than he does how he disappeared last March/April. Won't happen this season.

Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
I think Edey is a good player and at times dominate. What he can't do is run with either Zu or Ballo in my opinion. He is great in the half court but I think you can get past him. That is a team I would not be scared of.

Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
I agree with you there, both our bigs are quicker and faster than Edey and Ballo has the girth that so many other bigs in the B1G do not have, probly not going hi-lo from tubelis to Ballo in that game very much but, they also have a young backcourt, they are doing well, but I think more susceptible to getting flustered if sped up.
That's where our bigs can do some damage.

Dang, wish he have had 1 more bucket, but noticed neither he nor the team was thinking record. Just the win.
Love the class shown by Zu, CTL and the entire team.

Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
Did they not know on the bench? I would have fed Zu every play the last 2 minutes.
Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
They did not know.

Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
Zu had the opportunity the last couple of plays but passed it out. Hell we only have him for two more years.....lol.

The best thing about it was he did it in front of his mom.

Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
He's putting up one of the best statistical seasons in program history. Comparable to '11 DWill, '18 Ayton and '89 Elliot and '93 Mills. I think he is now in the discussion of top 10 Wildcats of all time.
Sean Elliott ('89-Sr) 22.3 Pts, 7.2 Reb, 4.1 Ast, 1 Stl, 0.3 Blk, 34.1 Mn, 1.3 Ast/TO, 26.1 Bird
Derrick Williams ('11-So) 19.5 Pts, 8.3 Reb, 1.1 Ast, 1 Stl, 0.7 Blk, 30 Mn, 0.4 Ast/TO, 28.1 Bird
Deandre Ayton ('18-Fr) 20.1 Pts, 11.6 Reb, 1.6 Ast, 0.6 Stl, 1.9 Blk, 33.5 Mn, 0.8 Ast/TO, 31.6 Bird
Chris Mills ('93-Sr) 20.4 Pts, 7.9 Reb, 1.9 Ast, 1.1 Stl, 0.5 Blk, 31.1 Mn, 0.7 Ast/TO, 25.4 Bird
Azuolas Tubelis ('23-Jr) 20.9 Pts, 9.6 Reb, 2.1 Ast, 1.1 Stl, 0.9 Blk, 30.7 Mn, 1 Ast/TO, 30.8 Bird

Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
A couple of days ago I had someone try and convince me Zu was bottom 1st round and probably more 2nd round draft pick. I am thinking mid to late 1st. The only thing I see holding him back is a consistently dropping 10-15ft jumper. Am I wrong?

Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
Unfortunately he’s not really 6’11” and his athleticism is below average. He’s a second round flyer, but he’d likely make bank in Europe.

Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
They said the same thing about Solomon Hill. Great college player, but not athletic enough for the league.
Ended up having a longer than average NBA career.
Of course Solo was the exception, not the rule.

If Zu is scoreless vs Oregon St he will average 20 points per game this week!
That’s nuts for college

Didn’t he go off last year when his mom was at the game?
Too bad CTL didn’t get Tutvelas in the game.

If he decides to come back next year, the Cats would be a top-5 team in my opinion.

I remember when lute used to encourage the Moms of his upper class men/NBA types to stay in Tucson all season long. Granted she is a long way from home

Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
No doubt she wants to make sure Lesser Tubelis gets an education. That might end if Zu leaves.
Re: Ąžuolas Tubelis
We are really fortunate to be able to watch such a consistently great player every game. They don't come around every day. His number will be in that ring of honor one day.

Meanwhile, Seth thinks scoring 59 points over two games isn’t all that impressive…
