Unfortunately no. Next week the odds are looking good though. At the very worst it'll be the week after.

"There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don't know we don't know." - Donald Rumsfeld

The known known with Trier is that he's not playing. The known unknown is that we don't know why. Are there unknown unknowns? And if so how would we know?

Anyone care to put the current odds on return this season?

He's definitely maybe returing to play this season.

There's a 100 percent chance, of a chance, of him returning to play.

When did Miles Simon rejoin the team after being ineligible in '98 ('97?)?

Utah is going to get routed if he plays Thursday. Gonna be way too much emotion and energy in the building.

I don't know. I worry about that first game back and the emotional pitch making it harder to play the way that we've been winning.

For instance, I would worry we go nuts for the first 10 minutes, then adrenaline dump big time and go flat. It's still a young team and I agree Zo being back will be emotional.

@RKelapire Jan 3, 2017, 12:32pm PST

“The only thing you have to do is just watch him during the games to see how much he cares about winning, how bad he feels about not being able to play, and how much he really cares about Arizona and his teammates,” head coach Sean Miller said Tuesday at his weekly press conference. “He’s engaged and he’s been that way in practice.”

“He practices with great spirit and energy and competitiveness. That’s helped our team as well.”

That type of enthusiasm has led many to believe that Trier’s return is imminent. After all, how could someone be that positive if there’s a chance they miss the entire season?

But that’s not the case. Trier does not know when or if he will be back, and Miller could not offer an update on his playing status for Thursday’s game versus Utah.

“We’ll see,” Miller said. “I wish I could talk more about Allonzo, and hopefully in time I can.”

OK, so I do know more than you do. BTW, where is the right forum to offer my AZ autographed balls, VCR tapes and other memorabilia? I need to get rid of my stuff to real Wildcat fans.None of my family shares my fanaticism. I have a ball signed by all the players and coaches the year before the championship. It won't be worth as much as the one the following year, but it still should be worth something. I also have one signed by Miles and Polky who left us way too soon. Even my AZ track uniform might come in handy. It got me into some closed practices as I took my time going through the gym to Dave Murray's office.

Huggy Bear is ranked #7 this week.Snicker all you want, I've been to all 50 states and lived in a dozen of them. The Army sends my annuity check here and this is where I'm ending my days, just not until Miller gets his FF.

So when (gonna go with "when," not "if," for now) AT returns, he'll come off the bench, at least at first. Eventually, though, I expect him to start with PJC, KA, LM, and DR. Our bench will become one of the best in the country. Miller will be able to run some incredible rotations.

Zo has been practicing, so not like he has to get back into shape like other players do coming off injury. I imagine he will start, and move KA over to the 1 until PJC is fully recovered.

I grew up 30 miles SE of PGH in the Forbes Field, Rosy Roswell, Ralph Kiner, Danny Murtaugh days.
I even cheered for Sihugo Green on the Duquesne Dukes hoops team.
I am now 30 miles SW of Beckley in Wyoming County.
If I ever make another trip to see family in the PGH area, I could look you up. I seriously do NOT get to talk to AZ hoops fans or even college grads here.
I fantasize about returning to Tucson to get my 100th medal in the Tucson Senior Olympics this coming January. I have 97 so far. How much competition can I have in the 80-84 bracket? Maybe the 2 studs who kept edging me out in my age bracket are in wheel chairs by now.

It's great that he's been practicing. But it's impossible to deny the success that KS and RA have had, and they're getting better. Is AT ready to be our go-to player late in games?

I think it's only a matter of time before PJC and AT are both starting.

He might come off the bench initially, but I'd figure that doesn't mean a ton. He should assert himself almost immediately. There's a difference between practice legs and game legs, but he should equalize that in a week or two. I would suspect he gets 20 or so minutes his first game back and it will just go up from there.
