Wonder if this shortened season will make any difference in who chooses to go early in the draft.

I wonder if they will give kids another year to compete, especially at the mid major level. Would be a shame as some of those kids should get a shot.

Maybe let them come back, start practice early and have a huge preseason tourney of 68 teams next year

Not enough scholarships for one, and floor minutes, along with what classes can they take? Not everyone wants to go to grad school.

Feel bad for Stone Gettings, but he had a good run at Arizona, just no NCAA tourney. Hazzard is a non-entity to me for whatever reason.

Although the Cats would lose the first weekend anyway.

Just think you give the kids the choice and if it means extra scholarships for one year and the NCAA has to use a few of the billions they make on these kids then you do it.

Just hate to think that in 20 years they might look back and say they had a chance to play but were denied by a super natural event beyond their control

It's true. The college basketball fan's mind has no means of comprehending that the tourney won't happen.

The mass delusion happening in the game thread right now is pretty funny. Especially since we are playing like shit in the fake game that isn’t happening.

Wow Dayton with a one seed. Really a bummer for their fans and team. We would have a tough one against TT. Would expect nothing less from the committee. 7 seed a one point dog against a 10. I think we would have played ourselves up to a 6 though.

Sc vs Illinois would have been entertaining. East Tennessee would have beat Iowa, guarantee it. Yale and SF Austin would have been dangerous 5/12 picks

Oh and Kansas would have really struggled with us if we ever would have played them

We would have whooped kansass, Zeke would have gotten Doke into foul trouble and Smith would have been all over Dotson. It's a shame. It is really a shame, we could have had years of messing with fuegs over that game.

To me that was a dream match up. Koloko would have played big for us and Green would have been a load for them along with NNaji

ESPN had us as the 7 in the west, with SDSU as the 2 Oregon as the 4 uofm as the 5 and Gonzaga as the 1 BYU and Seton Hall in the 6-3 game. That would have been favorable.

I would love to have a bracket so we could have discussions and maybe someone has software where the match ups could be simulated. Make it so NCAA

Release the bracket, and then have the teams compete by way of video games we watch live. Not a basketball video game, but something completely unrelated like Asteroids.

Ha!!!! I called it, release the brackets. Let the nerds in their nerderies run the sims until they come up with a presumptive national champion that we can all argue about for 3 weeks or so. I like LH 's idea also. I hope they televise it.

Actually the basketball video game played by the players themselves would be fun.

Only caveat: you can’t play yourself. Gotta play one of your teammates.

Not the lunardi bracket, I want the real committee bracket. The selection Sunday bracket. These kids need to be recognized for their success this season. Dayton needs to get it's 1 seed. Sdsu needs it's 2 seed. Hofstra needs to get it's 15 seed. Etsu and SFA need their 12 seeds and for everyone to say they would have totally beaten some middling power five conf team that's trailing off. Every little bit of closure will help these kids. I hope they work on getting seniors an extra year of eligibility for those that choose to come back. And I hope some of these great low major squads come back fully.

The only problem with this is that 15 teams or so would have been their conference champions which were never crowned.

He's very lucky indeed. Not that our spineless AD and President would have fired him though. At least we don't have to suffer the indignity of another humiliating first round loss to some unheard of mid major geek squad. Never has it been so painful to watch U of A basketball as it was this season. More like a chore than something to enjoy. Glad it's over.

Apparently you didn’t watch the ‘97 Championship Team. They weren’t called the Cardiac Cats for nothing.

Or don’t watch anymore...

Now you’re just flailing. I’d say you’ve taken your troll status to “on the bubble.” If you’re lucky, maybe the NCAA will sanction Arizona with a postseason ban.

Because we tend to do better in simulations than in actual real life basketball?

In the Matrix no Cat ever misses the front end of a late game 1-and-1.
