Role player at Arizona is not a bad thing. You'll play at a very high level.
But he's got be realistic/ honest about his own skill level within an extremely competitive environment.

Didn't he leave Oregon due to that he (or his dad) felt that Altman was misusing him?

Unless he/dad have grown up since then I really doubt he is looking to be a scrub again, even at a high level.

He averaged 8 and 6 at UNLV in a down year for them in 24 mpg as a 4th year junior. If he expects more than 20 mpg at a high major, well, that's on him. To be a rotation guy, sure. To be showcased? He'd better hit up a low major for that.

Another key stat is that he only started 12 games in his career.

So imagine he will end up at ASU, unless he wants to be a small fish in a big pond.

He averaged 8 ppg for a middling UNLV team. If he wants a starring role, it should be clear that Arizona (or Mich St, Miami or NCSU) are not for him.
As long as it's clear ...

If it isn't, it never will be for him. If you transfer from a .500 MWC team to a top ten team and you expect to expand your role when it was a rotation player on the MWC team...well, you are a huge optimist.

For what it's worth, Ben Carter is one of (& maybe the most of) the departures that rebel fans are bummed out over. He is absolutely a role player...but he plays hard every night & he's mostly solid fundamentally. I wouldn't mind him on the squad at all.

That is saying something when you're down to 2 scholarship players.

Eh, being a role player on a really good team will get you exposure equal to being a key player on a sub .500 team. All you need to know about that is playing where in the world is Jahii Carson. He was more a featured guy than TJ, and...

At ASU? Then he'd better hope a last second J to beat KY and go to the Final Four is comparable to hitting a last second J to only lose by five to Oregon State, cover the spread, and lock the Devils into the 10 seed in the Pac tourney.

thats top 5 class again -- and most likely there would be one more addition.

Haha wow, this 97 post just illustrates how fluid recruiting really is. Arizona ended up with 4 guys that nobody was talking about in regards to Arizona recruiting a year prior. Gotta love it.

Preferred walk-ons don't have to try out, they are on the team automatically. All other walk-ons have to go through tryouts with other potential walkons. Usually applies more to football.

I imagine they get a scholie too if one opens up, but only for that year.

2* at ESPN, unranked by rivals and scout.

http://insider.espn.go.com/college-spor ... desjardins" target="_blank

Strengths:
Desjardins has a nice lean frame with long arms and he is a solid athlete as well. He is a prolific jump shooter that has great range on his shot and his release is impeccable. He is more effective shooting off the catch, but he can also nail mid-range jump

Now official:

These 2 guys get the best seats in the house and get to practice against some of the best players in the nation.

110 fouls, 5 disqualifications which does seem a bit high, 2628th in the nation at the JC level which I assume the lower number the better?

I seriously doubt an official word will ever be put out. In the end the university and basketball program did the right thing and both parties have obviously moved on for the better.

Arizona has certainly filled all its holes with this class and will be utilizing all 13 scholarships for the first time since....forever? I'm glad we filled the PF depth with a JUCO guy who can be in the program for 2-3 years as opposed to a grad transfer for this specific team.

The Pitts story is weird, wacky, and will be interesting to see if it ever comes out.

I like the Keanu pick up as we needed another athletic big man who can play defense
