Really need Kriisa to shoot it like he did the last game.

Also, avoid those early fouls, CK!

Illinois is turnover prone so if we pressure we should get some easy run outs. They shoot the 3 ball well so we need to get out on the shooters. Going to be uncomfortable at times but I think we win by 8

They're also missing a rotation PG and all their fans are hoping we don't press. I hope the OSU and Wyoming games were just a taste and we press all game

Here’s hoping we put a beat down on them that virtually compels the AP voters to put us in the top 5 on Monday, regardless of other outcomes.

For those that haven’t read it, the authors take an in depth look at how we pass ahead on the fast break, how using two traditional bigs in pick-&-roll is giving us easy looks at the rim, and how Tubelis has been killing it in the High-Low.

It’s a great look at Tommy Boy’s offensive philosophy and how he’s been able to switch up our attack based on what the defense is willing to give us.

well according to the website I use for such questions, this is the first time since 1973 that Illinois lost to a Pac 12 team at home when they lost 71-60 to USC. They've only played a couple games against Pac 12 teams at home since then.

Had to stay cool and calm with my kids there, so no rumble but my voice is pretty much shot.

Our fan base travels like none I’ve ever witnessed before (except maybe Kansas). I was surprised how many Cats fans were there.

It always was, always will be, no question

Gonzaga was an afterthought, a non-issue, non-factor. Arizona was what Gonzaga wanted to be for three plus decades, Monson included.

for a brief minute they have been, and it took an idiot assistant and a loyal to-his-own-fault coach to allow it to happen.

remember, it was March 23, 2014: Gonzaga 61, Arizona 84 in a dunking romp second round NCAA - Sean Miller head coach.

Lloyd is here for one reason, it’s what he always wanted but couldn’t have, so he copied it and created the next best thing, it took nearly 20years.

now he has the real thing and boy isn’t it glorious.

College teams don’t come back from from a 19-0 run… especially on the road. It’s the spurt of death that we are used to putting on teams that basically ends the games

Coming back from that and closing the halftime deficit to only 4 was the key to the game

The mental toughness of this team is through the roof and is something we need come March

I’m still in awe of this game yesterday

19-0 run and hitting 16 three’s - and at a place that road teams don’t come out alive - and still winning the game is definitely my lasting impression of what we did yesterday.

What a win. Had to sit for a while and absorb the full impact of that game's significance. Think we'll remember that one for a while.

Tommy Freaking Lloyd. Not much more to say.

Don't really care what we're ranked tomorrow. The bigger picture is that this team can compete for a national title. When was the last time I wrote that sentence without qualification or hesitation? Been a while.

Does anyone else think the Cats are going to develop a Balkans pipeline? The Balkans love basketball close to how the US loves basketball. Kriisa and Tubelis are shining in the Cats system. I believe it would be wise to focus on the Balkans for future Cats. They love their basketball and, from what I'm seeing, their players thrive in our system. The Cats are in a unique position to find the best players in Europe. It's not just CTL, but Murphy and Fois. The US is so money driven. UA is in a unique position to farm quality players from around the world. IMO, for the Cats to maximize their status, they need to be an international team now. That gives us an incredible edge. Basketball has matured and the US isn't the dominant nation for basketball talent. Arizona can be the Avant Garde of seriously recruiting internationally. The AAU is overrated.

Some quotes from an Illinois beat writer that I chuckled at:

Credit Arizona for a gutty performance in its first true road game of the season. First-year coach Tommy Lloyd is way ahead of projections, winning big with Sean Miller's players. Just wait until the former Gonzaga assistant gets his own recruits. The Wildcats figure to be a Pac-12 power again.

I think these recruits are pretty darn good don’t you? Also we are a PAC 12 power. Always have been, never really left

The Balkans?????? I think we are having some geographic confusion here.

https://www.britannica.com/place/Balkans

The Balkans are an area in Southeastern Europe (Bulgaria, Croatia, etc). Tubelis/Kriisa are from Lithuania/Estonia which is an area in
Northeastern Europe........nothing to do with the Balkans.

I think you mean BALTIC states :
