Here in AZ about 90% of all Banner (most hospitals) are full. At the previous peak it was 2/3 covid and now it's only 40% covid. But there are so many people needing care due to having put it off and hospital demand is expected to rise here NOT COUNTING Omicron according to Banner's internal forecasting.

Would be great if we could just move on to just a "100x deadly flu" if we had an inexhaustible supply of nurses and staff. But attrition rates are already extremely high and we don't know how many more waves those remaining in health care will have to face.

Stay safe!

I think the NCAA needs to revamp the Covid policy. They should differentiate between Omicron Covid and Delta Covid. If a team has Omicron issues then only the infected player should be affected.

Note: This assumes that the preliminary data is accurate and Omicron is less virulent than Delta

I don't know how we are going to be able to avoid it. Just need everyone to wear a mask on the team when not playing. A U.K. study is the one that says they see no strength difference in the virus's which is contrary to So. Africa. The virus in the UK and US is only three weeks old so time will tell.

Depends on what your definition is of overblown. Should we be concerned?? Yes
Is this the Andromeda strain?? No

This pandemic, in an internet connected world with things like Twitter, is like nothing we have seen before. The vast majority of the population (including this board) have next to zero scientific/technical background, and hence are unable to properly process the mass of data/news/garbage spewing out of their PC/phone. Every idiot with a twitter handle can scream "Millions will die" and the tweet will get re-tweeted over and over again.

People should just calm down and follow the CDC guidelines. The vast, vast, majority of the country will be just fine.

BTW, if Zonagrad/asuhater still believe we are going to have 1 million dead by summer (no matter what we do) I have a proposition for you. I will bet you whatever amount $$$ you wish to risk.....and I will give you 10/1 odds that we will NOT see 1 million fatalities in the USA.

I don’t know how easy it is to determine what strain someone has.
When I got tested at CVS. they couldn’t tell what strain. I’m thinking the rapid tests would need to be sent to some special lab to determine if it’s Mu or Xi or Delta.
Who knows if NCAA would want to expend the effort?

Going to be interesting if better teams start using the "Giannis wall" on the whole team to stop easy transition pts like both teams did this past week.

Our half court offense is efficient but it just isn't as explosive as it is in transition (obviously). Arizona has looked worse even less so without Kerr on the court but Kier has looked better lately.

The triangle and too, box and 1, zone, etc are all just dissected with ease by this team which gives me confidence they can handle it. The huge concern is all of these defenses thrown at Arizona have tried to make Terry beat them, and I'm less confident in that.

It's interesting both first halves is they seemed to be feeling out the zone defense the first ten minutes and once they figured it out, they started to get whatever shots they wanted. It's very clear teams will do their best to minimize Benn and Kerr, so it's important guys like Kier and Larsson can give you productive minutes off the bench. Having a guy like AT will only help come conference season when the game will become more halfcourt focused and Arizona's size becomes a major differentiator. I loved CTL going with the Koloko / Ballo lineup for an extended period, a sign of things to come...

Also, the 2% and 3% shooting percentages the last two games is better than season averages with the assist / FGM percentage slipped somewhat but still elite. Just a really fun team to watch.

I'm getting Michigan vibes with this team, which means they could end up like Villanova (quickly fading). Their only signature win was UNC (soft bubble team) with Villanova spanking them and a home loss to Texas Tech. Kennedy Chandler is legit, but outside of him, I don't know who else they have.
