Other teams are losing to teams they shouldn't. So yes, just winning can improve your seed. Louisville just lost to Georgia Tech. That's the equivalent of losing to Cal.Rutgers lost to Ohio State, etc....

Keep winning and the tide will go out with other teams falling by the wayside. The most important game left on the schedule is Oregon at McKale. That's a high profile win. But all of them matter.

You're right, zg. All wins help; all losses hurt. Still a ton of games before Selection Sunday, and a lot can change.

Couldn't watch last night, but it sounds like they did their usual slow start followed by a few bursts of offense, and it was enough to keep Cal at bay. Smith made some shots against a horrible conference opponent, and now we'll wait to see if he can do that in back to back games.

If ASU won at Stanford last night, I'm thinking we should too.

The top 6 in the Pac are all still alive for the reg season title, amazingly. It's also crazy that we control our own fate. If we win out, we're Pac champs. Anyone think we'll win out?

Great way to rebound from the UCLA debacle.

Starting UA guards were 5-20 from the field. That has to be fixed somehow before the P12/NCAA tourney or we are not going to get very far.

Time for some Beaver/Duck payback.

5-1 is the best case scenario. I don't see us beating SC in LA. Worst case 3-3 with losses to SC, UCLA & Oregon. Right now with our shooting I'll go with 4-2. The LA trip is going to be tough

Miller should be coach of the year if the cats manage to win the conference. Zeke is making a strong push for FOY as well.

Curious to go back to last year’s posts about Washington’s Mike Hopkins. I’m guessing the staunchest critics of Miller were probably singing Hopkins’ praises a year ago.

Washington is 2-11 in the PAC, winless on the road. Losing Green can’t be the only excuse for a team some picked to contend for the conference title that’s now dead last. Anyone want to say Hopkins is better than Miller now? Anyone?

Preseason Pac-12 rankings:
Image

Current rankings:
TEAMS CONFERENCE OVERALL
16 Colorado 9-4 20-6
17 Oregon 8-4 19-6
Arizona 8-4 18-7
Arizona State 7-4 16-8
USC 8-5 19-7
UCLA 8-5 15-11
Stanford 5-7 16-9
Utah 5-7 14-10
Oregon State 5-8 15-10
Washington State 5-8 14-12
California 4-7 10-14
Washington 2-11 12-14

If Arizona wins the conference, Miller deserves the award.
If ASU finishes top 3, poutin' Hurley deserves the award.
If Stanford can finish top 5, Haase gets it.

For POTY, I don't think anyone other than Pritchard can win it. He's bailed them out time and time again. Distant runner-ups in Martin (ASU goes boom or bust based on him) and Tinkle, Elleby's team is just not great.

For FOTY:
#3 recruit in the nation - Isaiah Stewart: 17.1 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 0.7 apg, 56.5% FG |Team Record: 12-14, played in 26 games
#25 recruit in the nation - Onyeka Okongwu: 16.4 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 1.1 apg, 60.9% FG |Team Record: 19-7, played in 23 games
#40 recruit in the nation - Zeke Nnaji: 16.6 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 0.8 apg, 60.2% FG |Team Record: 18-7, played in 25 games
#109 recruit in the nation - Tyrell Terry: 15.2 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 3.1 apg, 45% FG |Team Record: 16-9, played in 24 games

The 3 bigs are identical essentially, not sure who is most deserving, all 3 garner the opposing team's main focus with gameplanning

If we play defense and shoot free throws like we did last night we will be hard to beat. Though I do understand being pessimistic about our ability to do that consistently for forty minutes per game.

I may be in the minority, but losing those three games would be a HUGELY disappointing way to finish the reg season. We need to win 5 of these last 6, period. Let’s see this team start trending upward.

I have no idea what the tourney may bring. Total crapshoot. Maybe we’ll get lucky this year.

Sidebar: last night is why many of us are frustrated with pac 12 referees. There is no consistency from crew to crew and many times even half to half.

I may be wrong but during the UCLA game I thought that crew allowed physical play. Something the Cats were not ready for and couldn’t handle playing through contact. UCLA dominated them. Last night was the complete opposite extreme and the whistle blew almost every possession it seemed. at least the refs were consistent both ways last night. what an absolute 180 in the way the last 2 Arizona games have been called.

This is why all PAC teams are at a disadvantage in the tourney. All of the sudden it’s time to just play basketball. Miller obviously welcomed that UCLA game.

This homestand against the Oregons will be the biggest test of the season so far. We went 0-2 against these teams a few weeks back, and while we nearly stole one in Eugene, the game in Corvallis wasn't really close.

If we can somehow go 2-0 this week, we'll put ourselves in the driver's seat for a Pac title and probably get back into the 5-seed discussion. I know these reg season titles don't mean as much as deep tourney runs, but they matter to me.

Same here. I also care about PAC-12 tourney Championship. I want to be optimistic about this week, but man- that UCLA game memory is seared into my brain. I’m hoping that it’s also embedded into the teams memory to the extent that it’s not defeating, but provides enough humility to encourage 100% effort this coming week. Would love to see a home sweep.

A few years ago when UCLA had Lonzo, they won at McKale and we won at Pauley. So sometimes the road team is looser for some reason.

As for the Oregons, we were right with the Ducks in that first game. Got hosed by a bad call at the end of regulation. I think our guys will be up for payback. No idea what to expect from OSU. They've been up and down this year.

THE 4 MOST EXPENSIVE DRINKS IN LAS VEGAS

https://www.drinkmemag.com/4-expensive-drinks-las-vegas" target="_blank
The Ono
The top spot on our list goes to a drink that is the reserve of multi-millionaires in Vegas – The Ono. Starting at $10,000, it can be bought at XS at Encore, with popular lore around its name being that it leaves your wallet scarred and broken after buying a bottle of Ono, just like Yoko Ono’s introduction to the Beatles had . While it may be up for discussion whether the $10,000 price tag is warranted for, we can safely say that the drink lives up to the grandeur and luxury that Vegas stands for, with buyers receiving XS cufflinks, and an 18 carat white gold chain with a black pearl, with every purchase. A pretty good deal, we’ll say!

Five Star
Next up on our list is Five Star, comprising of a mixture of Louis XIII Rare Cask 42.6, Benedictine “Black Monk” 500th Anniversary Edition Martini Gran Lusso 150th Anniversary Vermouth and Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 23 Year. It goes without saying that there’s a lot of classy alcohol going into this one, which is perhaps why its $5000 tag per bottle isn’t entirely unfounded. The drink gets its name from the kind of service offered at the Wynn Las Vegas casino, which is five stars all the way!

High Limit Kir Royale
At number 3 on our list we have High Limit Kir Royale, available at MGM Resorts’ Teatro Euro Bar for a whopping $2200 per bottle. Kir Royale is more suitable for those of you who are looking for more fruity flavour for your high end liquor, but before shelling out this amount bear in mind, that people involved in blind testing of alcohol are often Besides being incredibly expensive, Kir Royale is known for offering a delicious taste, unlike many other top-of-the-line drinks. The drink is made out of a mixture of Louis Roedererr Cristal Champagne, Hardy Perfection Cognac and Grand Marnier Cinquantenaire, lending it the class and opulence that MGM stands for.

Fixx Deluxe
While its name might not evoke images of extravagance and luxury, Fizz Deluxe manages dispel all of these doubts with its insane $2500 price tag. It derives its name from the place where it can be purchased – Fizz Las Vegas in Caesars Palace. The recipe for this drink is based on the French 75 drink, made out of Grand Marnier Quintessence and Hennessey Richard Cognac, with additions of lemon juice, egg whites and syrup, with the end result being a cocktail that exemplifies class and luxury.

If you’ve got some good cash to splurge, then you know where to spend it on your next trip to Vegas!

I’ll take a beer. Not beachcat, but I think we are going to scalp. I think the only game that will be tough to get tickets to at a reasonable price will be the championship if we make it. Thursday will be dirt cheap as it is never even close to full from my past experiences. Seems like it picks up on Friday.

My projection is we lose 2 and possibly 3 of the remaining games. Playing on the road is a split at best and more likely 2 losses. This teams offense is really struggling which I don't understand because they can all hit free throws at a decent clip. What you haven't heard this year is we have trouble against a zone. Know why. Stone and Zeke can both hit 12 footers. Last year Chase couldn't hit with any consistency and it was also on his free throws. There have only been 3 sweeps on the road and we have two of them and ASU has the other. Our last one was against the weakest road trip in my opinion and we barely squeaked those out. We need to make a statement offensively to bring back my confidence.
