Kudos to Lavin for the detailed breakdown of the 97 team’s run through the conference season and tourney. My respect for him as an analyst went up even more.

Mark Jackson couldn't survive the first round with the exact same team Kerr won a title with the following season. He should permanently be in the broadcast booth (although he's not good there either)

XM gave bill walton his own show on ESPNU with roxy bernstein called the bill walton experience.

It's everything you might expect it to be.

Edit

Maybe it's a sign that they are moving on from the ACC and dukie V to the Pac 12 and Bill Walton.

One can dream.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Just spitballin' here, but I'm guessing they are retooling.

Rich Herrera sucks and doesn't even live in Tucson. Mike needs a partner who doesn't spew right wing rhetoric.

I heard somewhere that Herrera's mom passed. Mike Luke now does his own podcast. If you are looking for your local radio fill Justin Spears is back on 1490. Though skipping out on all local radio unless listening to a game/post game/pre game would not have you missing out on anything worthwhile.

I listen to Rivera and Gonzales on 1450. But sometimes they talk golf so I switch to 1290.

I was done with Spears when he kept saying AZ was involved in a pay to play scandal.

Woodman was just a misogynist right winger that found every way to worm it into the convo. He ended every show with "thank your police officers" after the BLM stuff started in 2014.

He still does the really dumb halftime of MNF recap of Sunday’s action (which I mean... people have TVs, DVRs, the internet, phones, etc and no one needs a recap) and the Home Run Derby.

He sucks. End of story.

Should've had mike luke do the show. Mike and Kevin used to do the show alone when the other was out. They could've very easily had Mike do it by himself, he's done it before

His Twitter still says he is a program director at 1290 but none of his posts mentioned the station. He also links Scheer and it seems like Herrera kicked scheer to the curb when he got the show.

But it seems very lame not to have a guest host do the show.
Maybe Rich is afraid he’ll get Wally Pipped.

He's still part of the show somewhat. He gets a speaking role occasionally. Still does the pre and post game shows with Eafon. The daily show he only speaks on occasion, very rarely but is still part of the show. His podcast is pretty damn good too. He's got a good voice and is a good talker. Good dude

Show was back for the first time today. Mike pretty much is used like a producer is on a big time national show like the Jim Rome show. He'll call to Mike to give the phone number to call or ask him a question occasionally. Sad. Mike is a really talented dude. Sad to see he's been forced into that role
I said what I said and I mean it.

But then at the same time will be looking for anyone who doesn’t have their hand over their heart during the national anthem and military flyover to blast them over social media for politicizing sports.

Regardless of the slant, I am one of the “keep it to sports people”.
I also hate how networks cross promote. They all do it but Fox is the worst. They love to put people from their new shows in the crowd at the World Series then show them like it’s random just so they can promote that show.
How about you focus on they game you are televising?

CBS is awful too during NCAA. Constantly talk about Masters.
If I wanted to nap I wouldn’t watch basketball.

He even called the kid who got carted off the field by the wrong name.

I hope you all got to watch RJ hosting The Jump last week. He was pretty good. Had Luke Walton on Friday and asked about his team and hopes for this season. Finally Perkin's pulled up an ESPN clip where it was announced that freshman RJ and Ruben Douglas has been sent home from Vegas for childish antics while in Vegas. It seems there was a lot more to the story. RJ and Ruben Douglas were banging on doors because Luke was on crutches from a foot injury and folks were opening the door as Luke was passing and blaming him. RJ also revealed that Michael Wright was involved but did not get sent home because he was a lot better at the time. Funny story. Luke said RJ mom was only concerned if he could still get her tickets because she was there.
