As long as our players are not as crazy and nervous as we are…we will be OK.

Players take on the affect of coach.
I think that bodes well for our team coming out and handling business with the “aw shucks assassin” at the helm.

I had my clothes laid out for the day and I looked at the pair of socks I had put and said to myself, I think I wore those the day we lost to Colorado.
So I put them back and grabbed different ones!
I like where your head is at but don't put them back... burn them

Did Face the Nation just say they'll be right back for a conversation with Mitch McConnell? Shouldn't there be a conversation with Clark, Kenny, and Charles starting in less than one minute, and then Illinois/Houston???

Houston vs Illinois is definitely a game worth watching. I want to see what the Cats might be up against, especially with Houston. I am cheering for Illinois.

This is where CTL earns his real paycheck. If we're focused and dialed in on defense, our depth should help us tremendously. And let's not forget TCU is good defensively, but they're not Tennessee, and we almost beat them at their house. We've played different versions of TCU throughout the year and have come out on top even when we played so-so.

It's too early to comment but Illinois is completely outmatched. They'll continue to be outsmarted and outcoached.
All season long Houston has looked like a college team from the 80s.

Illinois has 100 turnovers and Houston only has 23 points in 16 minutes lol. Like that Wooden quote, a lot more activity than productivity

Brad Underwood is a terrible in-game coach. If he has even one strategy session with his team I will be shocked.

Illinois is same as before, lots of turnovers and jacked 3s. Houston very active but can't score. In the first half, they had 8 offensive boards, Illinois had 9 turnovers, and yet only 30 points.

Illinois doesn't concern me at all. So about Houston...when we play poorly, we have the same issues Illinois is having, we turn the ball over, we miss 3s, and we don't defensive rebound 3s. The fact that with all of that, Houston is only up 4, that makes me feel pretty good

And since Illinois will lose this game, it's a good time to point out that Arizona didn't just beat them on their home court. Arizona beat them on their home court after being forced to land their plane in the wrong city and finding alternative land transport through a snow storm and not getting to bed the night before.

You're starting to assuage my pessimism. If we can score in the high 60s against Houston we could likely outscore them.

I am starting to cement my definition of an elite team. Whenever an opponent plays an elite team, the elite team will have a target on their back, and will most likely get the opponents best shot. This is true even when the elite team doesn't have one of their best teams.

I think that's generally true, including this year's team. However for this year's team, how much is it the style of play that'll also elevate the opponents.
All of the extra possessions will lead to more turnovers for us, but also more scoring chances for them.
