You only need to guard one guy out at the three point line in that lineup. Allows teams to pack the paint and take away our interior passing.

Anyone else watch the Field of 68 last night? They spent the first 12 minutes pretty much just crapping on the Cats, well Ashton Gibbs didn't, but the host and Oglesby did. They made it sound like they haven't watched an Arizona game since the first UCLA game.

Well to be fair those big (betting) margins are pretty variable since our lead can shrink a lot when we put in the walk-ons like last night.

I didnt think he was shitting on Arizona at all. I thought their comments on concerns come tourney time are pretty accurate especially when it comes to consistency with Kriisa. I think they mentioned Kriisa is low 30% from 3 and total % in conference play.

What I liked most about Kriisa vs OSU is that he didn’t force any shots and had 6 assists and 1 TO. That’s what this team needs. It doesn’t need him jacking 10-12 shots a game.

This game may’ve been more important for securing a 1 seed. We’ll see.

On to the last conference road trip.

I know everyone is looking towards the last game of this trip @USC but Colorado has quietly won 5 games in a row.

Go 2-1 and we have our #1 seed

Absolutely AL.

Also wondering if we see a longer rotation against Utah on Thursday if we get ahead early. 3 games in 6 days on the road will be really tough.

Arizona is in a great spot heading into the mountain swing - i suspected for a while this is where Lloyd & Co would trip up along the way one last time.

now that its here it doesnt seem unreasonable for me to think they can win them all but its not likely.

good to get Utah first and out of the way on Thursday instead of extra amped Saturday Night "date night" crowd at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City...its going to bad and hard enough to tolerate during the week.

Colorado is a feisty whiny bunch of bitches head to toe from coach to fans - Boulder will want nothing more than to beat hated Arizona (5pm tip on saturday) and the crowd will be extra cheesy and obnoxious.

Mathurin really rounding into form - he gets to head back on the road where he is very comfortable and Tubelis is 100% healthy and in great rhythm.

one game at a time here...trying hard not to look till tuesday till sunday.

Winning @Utah and @Colorado is just really hard, in any season. But this AZ team is the best we've had in a long time, so I'm more confident going into this week that we can win both. We pose match up problems galore for both teams. Who can either team put on Benn? On Koloko?

I'd be a little surprised to win that third straight road game @USC, even as well as we've been playing. The Trojans are very tough at home, and they've got a lot to play for. If that's our only loss before the Pac tourney, we're a 1 seed. If we drop two of the next three, our grasp on a 1 weakens a little.

I think with 2 weeks left in the regular season it is important to reflect on where we are.

I know many of us thought AZ being left out of the pre-season top 25 and picked to finish somewhere in the middle of the Pac was absurd but with a new coach... who had zero head coaching experience taking over.... no one could have thought that entering the final week of February we would:

Have a coach who quickly won over all of the skeptics in Tucson and fans of AZ
Have only 1 non-conference loss (to a top 15 team on the road)
1 conference loss (to a top 15 team on the road)
A 3 game lead in Pac.... all but having the regular season Pac 12 Championship locked up
Have a favorite to win Pac-12 Player of the Year (As well as All-American)
Have a favorite to win Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year
A locked up Pac-12 Coach of the Year (And a serious candidate for NCOY)
Had the amazing and unexpected growth in 3 key players (Koloko, Terry and Ballo)
Undefeated at home
A team that never panics at early double digit deficits
A team that is staring at #2 poll ranking
A team that is closing in a #1 seed in The NCAA Tournament

It's good to be a Cats fan

I was the most vocal of critics when it came to the hire, but I must say that Lloyd has adjusted quite well to the Old Pueblo. That being said, we still need to clean up the rebounding, turnovers and free throws. I don't expect radical changes overnight, but some fine tuning will pay huge dividends come post season time.

You know, CTL has lived quite the semi-charmed life. He leaves a top 5 program and moves to a program that re establishes itself as a top 5 with a great tradition and culture. No rebuild, just a massive tune up. Now, he has a good foundation to have a top 5 team next year if only Mathurin leaves (and if he recruits the portal well). I like the fact his image is squeaky clean as well, it makes every accomplishment that much more palatable by not just fans, but the media as well.

He can be a bit dorky at times, but with the culture he has instilled the future does indeed look promising. Some fans might whine about the closeness of the score, but we need games like Illinois, Wichita State and Oregon to prepare us for those physical, SEC level teams that will stretch us come tourney time. But overall, I'm just happy to sweep ASU and get those UCLA and Oregon monkeys off our backs. It feels great.

The path is clear. What was done in the past must not be repeated. So for the remainder of the season I will not brag to my brother about our team. Every lamentable time I have in the past it has led to him watching us play miserably, terribly, embarrassingly badly. Further, I will not pick Benn or Kerr for any remaining games. They are too important. I suggest we install a chastity belt around the outside of Ari's trousers in case a bad case of crotch rot tempts him to change underwear. I would trust Chicat with the key, but maybe we can vote on it.
