I think he can do fine in improving stock even if Zo and Ayton take a lot of shots. Rawle's role in the NBA is as a 2 guard who has 3 and D capability. He can flash that next year.

Miller would love to have him as a primary wing who can lock people down in the role of Rondae, Kadeem, etc. The shots will be there, he just has to hit them from distance. His glass work and ability to get to the rim strong are not where the questions are.
Improve ballhandling, improve shooting, continue improvement of defense = Recipes to boost draft stock significantly, which are not impacted by the amount of shots Zo/Ayton get.
Yes. If he shows the NBA he has legit 2 guard skills and can be a plus defender and shooter, that's all he needs, and none of it requires him to take from Trier or Ayton.

Frankly, showing he can take passes from creators and knock down J's is pretty much what NBA scouts want to see. He should get that chance, and if he can convert those opportunities at a good rate, he really helps himself.

So glad Rawle is back. Sophomore Rawle >>>>>>>>> Brian Bowen. I believe Bowen would have committed to us (but with this Dude, who the heck knows).

However, it now looks to me that we may have dodged a bullet as Bowen's super late decision reeks of "must have certain amount of guaranteed playing time" and / or "must be 'The Man'"....which no TEAM wants any part of.

If Bowen is as good as he is rated, why does he appear to be so scared to fight for playing time? Obviously I'm making assumptions here but I think they are fair assumptions at this point.

For Rawle fans: If you have Netflix, enjoy season 1, episode 2 of Black Mirror.

Yeah I noticed this when I first watched it as well. Same actor playing lead role in "Get Out."

How long was Ashley out for? I know he missed the rest of that season but wasn't it only 6 weeks for a stress fracture?

Little birdie told me he accidentally took a banned substance and nailed a player's sister right before he broke it. You won't hear anything.

In most cases, it takes from 6 to 8 weeks for a stress fracture to heal. More serious stress fractures can take longer. Although it can be hard to be sidelined with an injury, returning to activity too soon can put you at risk for larger, harder-to-heal stress fractures and an even longer down time. Reinjury could lead to chronic problems and the stress fracture might never heal properly.

Very much depends on the location and severity. An inch up or down a metatarsal can make the difference between weeks and months.

It's also partly that we're so used to being snake bit by now that losing a favorite player for just two months feels like a button fell of your shirt.

Was just going to say the same thing. Those typically are the foot fractures that require immediate surgery due to a high risk of non union from non operative treatment. Classical known as dancers fracture due to the sudden abnormal rotation of the proximal head of the 5th metatarsal.

In rawles case, 2-3 months recovery from surgical fixation is appropriate. He'll be non weight bearing for about a month and then can start rehabbing.

He is currently in a walking boot, for what it is worth.

It is a good thing, as of right now, that Arizona has depth on the wing. However, with every day that passes, that could obviously change.

Brandon Randolph, Emmanuel Akot to fill in for the injured Rawle Alkins

Back in August, I compared Brandon Randolph’s all-around game to that of Rawle Alkins.

Now, the 6-foot-5 freshman will be one of two Arizona Wildcats Sean Miller will be asking to replace Alkins, while the latter is sidelined eight to 12 weeks with a broken foot.

In two games during Arizona’s exhibition tour in Spain, Randolph averaged 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists per game, while shooting 12-25 from the field and 5-11 from 3.

The former four-star recruit showed the ability to shoot, rebound, defend, and distribute along with dazzling athleticism (he almost killed a guy on a dunk attempt).

The other main candidate to replace Alkins, Miller said, is another freshman — Emmanuel Akot.

The former five-star recruit’s performance in Spain was a little shakier than Randolph’s, but that’s based on an extremely small sample size because he got injured in Arizona’s second, and final, exhibition.

The 6-foot-7 forward had six points, three rebounds, and three assists on 3-4 shooting in the first game. He then played a handful of minutes in the second game, shooting 0-2 from the field with two assists before being held out.

Akot was originally a 2018 recruit, but he reclassifed to 2017 in late May. Miller mentioned him as an option at point guard back in August.

“He’s as versatile of a player as we’ve had,” the UA head coach said. “He can play any number of positions, is an incredible passer, plays extremely hard. I think he has a chance to be a defensive player along the lines of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

“I’ll never forget the Gonzaga game here in McKale. He guarded (Kevin) Pangos and (Kyle) Wiltjer — the four-man or center and the point guard all within a five-minute period of time. Emmanuel Akot has the makings of being a defensive player like that.”

Hopefully they dont rush him back, and he just rehabs until conf play. I'd be super conservative for a foot injury to avoid setbacks and reinjury.
