He doesn't get enough love from his alma mater because he acts like a turd. He built his career on the foundation of cow toeing to the east coast bias and undermining Arizona at every turn.

In his ESPN days, his tag line on the website was something like, "Arizona lost in the first round all the time when I was a college student, and that's who they are and always will be."

Then he rolls into Tucson on assignments and posts a pic of himself in front of Dirtbags and says "Hey! How come nobody is coming here to watch some games with me???"

I think his tagline was that Arizona didn’t make it past the Sweet Sixteen in 3 of the 4 years he was at Arizona.

Of course he failed to mention that the fourth year we won the National Championship.

We were at Arizona at the same time. Makes me wonder if I didn’t bang the girl he was desperate to talk to and now he hates all things Arizona.

This might be all my fault guys…

He blocked me on Twitter (has since unblocked me) because I pointed to his bio tagline and the hypocrisy of it. He said I was annoying him.

Dude is literally the biggest tool. When he was on the other night with Miller, Sean literally told him to “move on” from some dumbass story he was droning on about.

Lloyd keeping it real.

Always focused. Lloyd’s been dancing for 20 years straight…four out of last five years his team has been No 1 seed but he still knows who his audience is.

It will never be about Lloyd.

Very very very fortunate to have our brand new, first year head coach be so familiar with winning at a high level. We don't cut down the nets when we win at USC, we cut nets when we finish the season on a win. We don't look past the conference tournament, we're hungry to show the world more. We don't get butterflies over a high ranking or a 1 seed, that's all just part of what we signed up for here.

Like you said, this man has been living the winning lifestyle for years and it seems he'll never be unsettled by his success.

His approach to Arizona Basketball - from a historic program perspective - is not any different from CSM's. The brand is bigger than any player or coach.

We've been quite lucky they have embraced our history.

good to have you here thank you for the contributions and insight so far.

i certainly am a fan of the Phil Jackson Bill Belichick attitude toward the media - and so far i am a fan of how Lloyd handles himself, always in control and succinct in his delivery - his time as an assistant and what hes learned from that inside the process in March is invaluable - its Arizona's players who will have to adjust on the fly the farther they advance (nobody outside Ballo has played in the NCAA's)

double edge sword as the guys are still pissed about not being able to play last year due to the self-banning - no question there is a something to prove factor for everybody in Tucson and the excitement of getting what was once an once annual opportunity again .... anticipation and energy is high but with that comes the lack of history and experience in this space from the players to draw from along the way.

Nice to have you as always.

Gonzaga isn't different from Arizona. A season where you get a 1 seed is a good year for anyone, but programs like Gonzaga and Arizona...it isn't the goal and no one gets a lifetime contract just for that.

There's no world where Lloyd hasn't done a great job this year, but it's nice to see he understands the goals are bigger and is keeping the team focused.

BTW, congrats on your own season. Like I said above, I consider Gonzaga in that elite class where a 1 seed is cool, but not unexpected.

excited to be able to root for my 2 favorite programs going for #1 seeds.

4 conference #1 seeds narrowly escape upsets today from 8/9 seeds Duke, Arizona, Providence and Boise st.

Win and advance

We don't know Kriisa's injury status, and not even a physician can diagnose via video, but there's no realistic cause for hope. The tourney expectations for this team probably went out the window. But it's been an awesome regular season.

They really need to end conference tournaments. They're pointless and unnecessary and just serve as opportunities to have players hurt and hurt your seeding.

Likely we'll be the first one seed eliminated. Hopefully it's not to a 16 seed but it's March and U of A basketball so definitely a possibility. Also likely UCLA's path to the Pac 12 Tourney title just got easier.

In the book No Country For Old Men McCarthy has a magnificent line about a pitcher: "It was like a ballplayer told me one time he said that if he had some slight injury and if it bothered him a little bit, nagged at him, he generally played better. It kept his mind focused on one thing instead of a hundred ...."

Our team is gonna sweep this tournament. Our point guard is gonna return. Our team is more than the sum of the roster.

I never played organized sports. I worked on crews. Crews of Juggies. Crews of treeplanters. Grunts. Misfits. Assholes. Drunks. Outcasts. Men. The toughest were always the little guys, and the little guys always embodied, preserved, and recapitulated the relentless brutal heart of the crew. And every other man banked on it, believed in it, and bowed to it as the living edifice of crew.

Our next game will be our best game of the year.
