On a whole, the team seems to be finding its stride lately. Aside from a few really ugly periods vs UCLA, we've been on a solid streak of play.

Can you imagine if he brings this intensity to the tourney, with TJ, SJ, and RHJ? Lights out.

He is looking like the tournament MVP to me especially with going against a small Oregon that he should eat up inside tonight

I'm so happy for Brandon. Even Miller is calling him out and giving him props.

Shit, we are really firing on all cylinders right now. looking forward to the next couple of weeks! ;)

I'd be shocked if he slips out of the first round now

Agree, unless we lose early in the tournament. Even a couple weeks ago he was listed as barely a late 2nd rounder in mock drafts.

From the Chad Ford chat today:

"Has Brandon Ashley's recent outstanding play in the Pac-12 tourney boosted his stock at all? I don't see him in your mock... what?!?!?"

Chad Ford (1:28 PM)

"He's an athletic tweener who doesn't shoot it well enough to be a three, but lacks the toughness to be a four. Yes, he's played better lately, but he's a junior. That's sort of expected. I don't think he'd be drafted if the he declared today. He needs a big tournament."

I hope Brandon Ashley stays out of foul trouble for Xavier. His inside and outside game could be a handful on Thurs.

He's due for a big game, but I am fine with our guards staying hot vs that Xavier zone and saving it for Wisky and Kentucky :)

CBS Sports saying he is declaring and he is a projected mid to late 2nd rounder. Bad decision it appears right now but if he wants out like many others before what can you do.

Need Tarc to stay badly

Testing the waters?

Apparently Brandon is like Jahii Carson.

Maybe he won't sign with an agent?

+1

Anybody who believes such a falsehood needs to turn in their fan card and move to wherever the hell Jahii is playing right now.

Hopefully, Ashley is just testing the waters at a scouting camp or two.

BAsh declaring for the draft is as unsurprising as Phoechina being a troll.

(ps, thanks chi for quoting the troll :p )

What difference does that make? Testing the water only allows you to get a grade. It's not like Brandon's grade could dissuade him any more than currently being slotted mid-late 2nd.

That said, I think the overlooked 2nd rounder is an area Miller's players tend to do well in. Even though Solo went in the first, he and Nick would be the big examples there. Brandon is a solid team guy with a diverse skill set who has learned to play man. In the second round, teams could do a lot worse.

Both males. Both play basketball. Both made a decision to leave after being in school for 3 years. Both prosettes mid to late 2nd round picks at time of declaration. Both may be playing ball outside of the USA next year.

Both seemed to make their mind up early and not factor in changes

Let the kids make their own announcements. I hate the sports "news" outlets trying to out-scoop one another.

I really believe he gets drafted in the 2nd. Lots of talent and potential on offense to be a solid reserve on a good team. His defense is a whole different story, but he has the tools to stick in the NBA as a stretch 4 who can also work on the block.

I agree clip. I think he's too talented for some team not to take him in the second round. There is some team who will use their mid to late second rounder, swap their pick, or trade a future second round pick for him. I wouldn't be surprised if the right team used an early second round pick on him. Plus he's an Arizona kid, that defensive mentality pedigree helps too

The number of second round picks , especially late 2nd round picks sticking with the team that drafted them are very slim. Does BAsh want to make $25K in the D league, or $100K in Europe?

Anyhow, more players rushing to....???

The reason these guys aren't commenting themselves is because they're letting the "process" run its course. So even if Ashley and Tarc and Stanley are leaving, they're going to honor the process of assessing their draft status, going over things with CSM and their families, and then making their intentions public. When is the deadline for decisions?

Yeah, that. Or maybe they just haven't made up their minds yet?

Good luck to Brandon. I still think about what would have been if he didn't hurt his foot. Hope he's another guy we can point to as an NBA success story soon.
