Looks like Simon and Dorsey did not make it.
But these guys did.
Stanley (duh)
Trier
Briscoe
Jeter
Zimmerman
Three more players will be cut to make it 12. Hopefully get some more good reports today.

Well, so long Tyler. I guess Miller didn't get "the feel" for him either.

“I want to get a feel for Coach Miller here,” said Dorsey. Arizona head coach Sean Miller is an assistant on the team. “I also want to get to know Justin better. He is my roommate here. I think the rumors started when Arizona offered Allonzo Trier. There might be more to it than just that. The thing is that a lot can happen in a year. Nothing is set till you sign your Letter anyway.”
Go if you wanna go.
See ya Dorsey! Gonna be fun curb stomping you at UCLA.

So if Dorsey decides to de-commit , do we want both Trier and Briscoe ?
And is it (hopefully) Jeter or Zimmerman ?

Jeter's going to Duke, and Zimmerman is next to zero chance, to bring a little 97cats into the discussion.
No idea about Briscoe, but haven't heard much about him and Arizona, so I'm pessimistic.

Just was reading Jerry Meyer, BTW, and Briscoe's about 35 percent to Arizona, so he's far from out of it. Just would be a bonus on top of the above signings.
And hey, CT, were you a poster on TOS, or just found us over here? What was your username?

Well, as the legendary Jerry Kindall told me the first day I worked in the Arizona AD, welcome! You're case-in-point No. 1 why this place kicks TOS' behind--the countless new users who couldn't spread the word about it because they were put in "moderation" forever.
Can't imagine how badly that hurt business at TOS and admin didn't even know it, or fully understand it. Tell all your friends to c'mon over, Tom.

Sucks about Simon and Dorsey getting cut. So many Dukee's on the roster!
Hopefully Trier makes it. Sounds like the Michael Redd type that proved invaluable at times for Team USA in 2008. Good gunner, nice stroke.

I'm very much a fan of Isaiah Briscoe, but from the roster Arizona will have that year Allonzo Trier would probably be the better fit as the better shooter who can spread the floor. Hard to go wrong with either of them, but a known jump shooter would be a good fit IMO.

Stanley Johnson is in pretty good company. Former University of Arizona players on previous USA U18 teams:
1998 Jason Gardner - Gold Medal FIBA Americas U18 Championship / U19 WC Qualifier
1998 Michael Wright - Gold Medal FIBA Americas U18 Championship / U19 WC Qualifier
2002 Andre Iguodala -Bronze Medal FIBA Americas U18 Championship / U19 WC Qualifier
2006 Jerryd Bayless - Gold Medal FIBA Americas U18 Championship / U19 WC Qualifier

Little known fact, due to his massive testicles, that is as close as Sean Miller's knees can get to each other.
You have to get into that next level analysis, Gum by.

No surprise that Stanley Johnson made USA Basketball's U18 team when the final 12-man roster was announced this morning but there also came a bonus for UA coach Sean Miller:
He'll get to be around and coach two of his remaining 2015 recruiting targets, guards Allonzo Trier and Isaiah Briscoe, who also made the team. Of UA's big man targets in 2015, Stephen Zimmerman made the team while his fellow Las Vegas Bishop Gorman teammate, Chase Jeter, did not.
USA Basketball will practice through Thursday and then begin hosting the FIBA Americas U18 Championship from Friday to June 24.
Johnson, who has already won two gold medals while playing for USA teams, is expected to be one of the top players on this team.
For anyone in the area, the games will be free at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. The tournament is a qualifier for the 2015 U19 World Championships in Greece.

At U18 basketball camp, recruiting takes back seat
6 hours ago • By Bruce Pascoe
FIBA Americas U18 Championship
Where: Colorado Springs, Colo.
When: Today-Tuesday
Coverage: All games streamed for free on fibaamericas.com and youtube.com/fibaamericas
USA schedule:
Today, 4:30 p.m., vs. Uruguay
Saturday, 4:30 p.m., vs Mexico
Sunday, 4:30 p.m., vs. Argentina
Monday, semifinals TBA
Tuesday, finals TBA
USA will open today against Uruguay at 4:30 p.m., and the top four finishers in the tournament will qualify for next year’s U19 World Championship in Greece.
Briscoe is one of four players on the U18 team that Miller has been pursuing, along with guard Allonzo Trier of Seattle and Las Vegas big men Stephen Zimmerman and Chase Jeter. Incoming Arizona wing Stanley Johnson is among the team’s expected standouts.
Along the way, he’s also enjoyed seeing coaches on a different level than just as recruiters. That stuff can wait, anyway.
Briscoe says he’ll trim his list down sometime next month from schools that include UConn, Rutgers, Louisville — and, of course, Arizona, Florida and Providence.
“Getting to be around the coaches and knowing them is great,” Briscoe said of the U18 staff. “It lets you know they care for you as a person.”

84/126 us at half.
Trier looks excellent. Smart. Controlled. Strikes quickly. Can see why he's labeled a scorer.
Brisco looks nice.
Winslow the outstanding player. The guy works synergistically with every lineup. Terrific passer, shooter. Nice defender.
Zimmerman has a sweet game. The guy really plays the whole court both ways. Very, very active for a C.
Stanley. Did he get in a little trouble after the first two plays----a breakaway dunk and rim hang, then a steal and ?. Pulled at 2/3 min of the 1stquarter, sat the rest. Didn't start the second Q nor get much play. An electric one hand catch of a high rim bounce for a dunk. Activity level below most of the team.
Zimmerman

I really hope Uruguay isn't the best team that doesn't have USA on their chest.
I also hope that Uruguay basketball has engaged some good counselors to keep their kids from jumping off of bridges.

The future is so so bright.
