Good to see Aaron participating. He has a ton of raw talent and youth, and the more seasoning, the better.

He needs experience and not to get down on himself. Hard worker with a ton of potential. The biggest issues can be remedied with time and effort, and he has both.

I think nba.com. Aaron Gordon. He's put up serious #'s so far.

Still only 19 too. He'll barely be 20 when his second year starts.

The thing that stood out for me with TJ is, even though they lost, his +/- was +13, which was 6 points higher than anybody else on the team.

Fun Sixers facts:

The Sixers developmental team could take 4 of 10 from the Sixers regular team.
Stanley has now scored as many points for the Sixers as Joel Embiid has, and TJ has scored more.

That last one is a shout out to Enfuego, not to make fun of Embiid, who actually seems decent.

I think Stanley has the chance to be a very special rookie. So far, he's exceeded all expectations, especially from the Detroit faithful. Oh hey guys, hey, it's been a while.

Aaron is by far the most impressive player in both camps. Stanley a close 2nd.

TJ back on the court in 15 mins. GJ(Jazz) in a little over 2 hours, if you care...

Yep. He looks like a man among boys out there really and is doing everything. His ball handling has improved a ton and his shot is looking much better. He actually looks fairly dangerous with the ball in his hands, against weaker comp yes, but you can see where things are going. All the other stuff goes without saying. He looks like a playmaker out there on the defensive end and his versatility is crazy, he doesnt look out of place at the 3 or 4 and they could stretch him out even further.

It was great watching TJ's game Monday. He was +12 when I checked late in the game. He would go to the bench to rest and the offense would fell apart completely.

Aside from the numbers, the most impressive thing is defense. No exceptions, TJ, Rondae, AG, and Stanley are almost always in the correct position, know when and how to effectively help, always max effort, etc. Their men are not scoring on them and aren't getting good looks. Fundamentally they are way more advanced than anyone else out there.

For all the (sometimes) clamoring for zone on this board, SM's ability to prepare players to play NBA-level man to man D is a major recruiting selling point. A guy like Solomon, his offense has not been great in the NBA, but he is sticking because he knows how to play D.

Compare that to Boeheim's 2-3 and the number of his highly rated recruits that either don't make the pros or flame out.

Would it be jumping the gun to say Stanley Johnson could very well be an All-Star in his rookie season?

Yes. Summer League is not a great barometer for the NBA season because of the talent level difference.

At one point, Marco Bellinelli averaged 30+ a game in summer league.

Wait and see. The real season is a whole different animal, but it is nice to see promising returns from ex-Cats so far.

The nice thing is that all that "we got the wrong SF" talk coming from Detroit has quieted down.
