Yeah, we are talking about book getting $15-20k up front and $5,000 a month thereafter. $60k a year for just one coach. And you know once Book delivered multiple guys and these agencies take off, that $5k a month goes up. Word gets around and more top level schools become involved. And we all know this shit has been pervasive in NCAA football and basketball for a long time, millions of dollars trading hands every year. This is one docket involving one conspiracy. We will likely see another/others involving different players. That is why the FBI is involved.

He said that he didnt get to read the whole report but that the schools may not be penalized as much as everyone thinks considering they are Nike schools but this was an issue with Adidas and outside agents.

These 4 coaches not only breached obligations to schools....also committed federal crimes.

That's the difference...Book is looking at jail time. Not just losing his job.

I wonder what he knows and what he will say to avoid that.

Well, yeah, but more like he was funneling kids to advisors, not like we were bribing kids to commit to the school. Seems like a big difference.

Feel really bad for Miller if he was betrayed so badly by Book. Don't throw him into the mess until facts reveal otherwise. Right now, he is a victim.

They all but named Quinnerly in the court docs on page 50/51. Another recruit for next season as well as 2 current players

I always had a problem with Book. So that leave of absence 2-3 years ago was what? Leaking info or caught giving benefits?

At this point I dont see how we keep Quinnerly. A post season ban this year and next is possible and we may also lose a couple starters this season

Greg Byrne is so glad he left...

Not to comment on the underlying allegations, but this is my reading of the allegation as well. That this was Book taking $ to push Arizona players to this agency. This reads like it wasn't done for Arizona's benefit at all, but just extra cash for Book.

Seems best-case. Also explains why a Nike school would be involved. Still don't get that part, unless it's Book out for himself.

That's what is weird to me. 3 Nike schools and an Under Armor school so far and yet the core of the conspiracy seems to involve Adidas. Was it quid pro quo? We'll let you get the guys your school wants if you push these other guys to us? Clearly some big puzzle pieces are yet to come.

AG: Schools are the victims in that they hired these coaches. And got players that they thought were certified and good to go as amateurs.

Seems best-case is we lose the players we thought were amateurs. Worst-case would come from NCAA.

NCAA found out today.

This is what concerns me, if a player or family receives cash through their associate with Arizona/book than that is what the NCAA will look askew at. It's more the than come to Arizona and we'll give you this agent when your are done. Right?

Unless you see an complaint or indictment filed charging Miller, he isn't going anywhere. Book is obviously gone, Quinerly will be ruled ineligible by the NCAA, as his mother received payment via the coconspirators. Doesn't look like any other money was given to current players, it at least is not in the complaint. Without evidence (ie a signed contract, which likely does not exist because they are still in school and it was likely just a verbal agreement/conversation involving the parent/handler and not the player) for the agents' services, the unnamed Wildcats (besides Quinnerly) are likely in the clear in terms of eligibility you would think.
