If Sean Miller is fired, who should replace him?

Post by Irish27 »

I know this is premature, but if Miller is fired, what guy would be the best hired to try and re-build this program? I know a lot of people will want a former UofA player, and the only two I could see even being interviewed would be Steve Kerr(highly doubt it) Damon and Reggie Geary. So the chances of an ex-Cat being the next coach are pretty slim.

The candidates I would like to have are in no particular order:
Chris Mack
Eric Musselman
Randy Bennett
Leon Rice
T. J. Otzelberger
Dan Hurley(doubt he would look want the job with Bobby at asu)

Oh and another thing: does the rest of the college hoops community now turn the page and move forward with impunity? Is Miller the single scapegoat?

Kerr has already stated he wouldn't coach college ball. They would both have to take a huge paycut LOL.

Wouldn't it be hysterical if miller had a press conference today and took down the entire college basketball community along with the holier-than-thou, so-called analysts like Bilas and Vitale?

God, I would pay to see that.

Arizona’s next coach will be an alum. That’s the only thing I’m completely confident about.

Probably just a coincidence that Cal’s in-state rival and close friend and recruiting rival are the two head coaches who have been directly named.

I'm kinda surprised I'm the first person to mention Dan Majerle from Grand Canyon. Probably hasn't been around long enough to be dirty, ties to Arizona (the state anyway), built a fun program there quickly.

Why in the world would Steve Kerr ever leave the best team in the NBA to come take over a program in the middle of a dumpster fire. This is going to take YEARS to recover from gentlemen.

My best guess is Romar would take over in the interim with CSM being suspended until more evidence is collected. If the evidence is clear then they will likely clean house. Miles Simon is a good name to throw out there...but he has a good job. Arizona used to be a dream job....now it's going to be who in the world would actually take us.
