I would first suspend Miller and Ayton until further notice. I would also seriously consider not having the team play in the Pac-12 Tournament and the NCAA tournament.

That's a good question especially so close to the post season. Not sure I'd do anything until everything is confirmed but the problem there is how long will that take.

How do you seed the PAC-12 bracket with only 11 teams? Give the 5th place team a bye in the first round?

I do not envy Heeke. I see a case for doing nothing and waiting. And I see a case to fire Miller now and do what you said.

Personally with what I know I keep playing in post season but put Miller on leave and hold Ayton out tonight

At this point, with all the other shit going on across the athletic dept, you are almost forced to fire him and suspend Ayton indefinitely.

The smart thing to do is keep playing w all of them. What do u have to lose? Go on a magic run with purhased players, beating other teams who are doing the same damn thing in the process.

1) Huddle the University lawyers and discuss alternatives
2) Conduct conference call with Coach Miller (who will certainly get his lawyer involved)
3) Huddle with the lawyers after the CC with Miller
4) Discuss plan with University President
5) Carry out plan

Which is probably why we have not heard anything from the UA administration yet. College basketball players get paid by agents, Lawyers get paid by the hour

Here and Miller know a lot more about the FBI investigation than any of us. They've no doubt had plenty of conversations. If Miller coaches tonight, it's because Here knows way more than ESPN or anyone else. The FBI met with Miller in September.

There's so much we don't know. Gonna be an interesting day.

Announce a raise for miller and end with, cause fuck you all—this is about giving players money for Christ’s sake.

Pretty much. NCAA doesn't care that UNC has fake classes or that Baylor has a rape culture in football, but giving players cash is the ultimate evil.

Seriously

Kick the ultimate decisions uostairsto the pres and legal counsel - upon approval:

Suspend Miller with pay

Suspend Ayton

Consider suspending Alkins

Initiate internal investigation, OR

cooperate fully with external law firm hired by the pres to investigate

The most difficult decisions are:

1) how and when to have a meeting with the players, and

2) scheduling today's press conference announcing the suspensions, and interim coach

At this point, either we're in a lot of trouble or we aren't. If we are, the season is already lost, so nothing gonna change. And if not, then we have no reason to act differently.

There's no reason to do anything other than business as usual right now.

Gather all FACTS (not news articles)
Suspend Miller / Ayton only if facts support
Business as usual for Miller / Ayton otherwise
Issue statement re: "presumed innocent pending facts of investigation" and "if it is discovered that Miller....punished to full extent"

NOT:
Fire Miller based on article
Suspend Ayton based on article
Forfeit games based on article
Admit any wrong based on article
Run around in a circle flailing arms and screaming

Only a tactic if the administration has "deniability"

Miller (stupidly) lost any and all deniability by directly dealing with the agent and being recorded

The AD lost deniability with the disclosure of the wiretaps yesterday

By now Heeke knows if Miller lied to him. One would presume Miller was asked a ton of questions about his relationship with Dawkins last fall. Was Dawkins ever in McKale? How often did you speak with him? Did you talk on the phone? Who called who? What did you talk about?

If Heeke/Robbins don't suspend Miller with pay--at the least--then this university has lost itself.

One would think Miller will be suspended and, after that, he will fade away. He will have coached his last game at Arizona.

As we know, Jay Bilas says he has coached his last game anywhere.

This is not completely true, what we have is a clusterfuck of mixed messages...

No one is denying the info LEAKED to Yahoo sports, but by the same token no one is verifying it as authentic...

Some of the schools have come out and said "Bullshit, we checked, we're clean" (Dook anyone?)

So there is some deniability in the Yahoo leaks...and so far the FBI has not verified the info as legit because that means someone on their end is leaking shit...

So like all things UA basketball the cone of silence remains astutely in place except for leaked discussion of conversations with no proof one way or another...

Think about all the speculation that went into the Trier ped thing...some really outlandish theories and the one that proved true had many people denying its plausibility...

If Mark Emmert said it's up to the schools whether implicated players continue this season, it would be absurd for Arizona to remove Ayton. Other than idiocy on the part of SDSU, which has no shot at the tourney anyway, nobody is going to remove their implicated players.

Not a goddamn thing until I read a transcript of the call in question or some new, verifiable evidence comes to light. I’m talking emails, other phone convos, witnesses, bank activity statements, stone tablets left on a hilltop by a vengeful deity, etc...

Assuming this has not already been done:

1. Have Miller Certified and sign a document stating that nothing that has been reported is true, and that he has been involved in no way and steering players to Arizona with cash payments. And go public with that story.

2. If he refuses to sign, suspend him immediately and declare eight an certified and sign a document stating that nothing that has been reported is true, and that he has been involved in no way in steering players to Arizona with cash payments. And go public with that story.

2. If he refuses to sign, suspend him immediately and keep Ayton off the court tonight.

Cut and dried. If Miller does #1 and is proven lying, fired with cause immediately.

Keep in mind that Miller is going to receive $10M even if fired with cause. That could affect his decision in your scenario.

What a dumb idea. I'm sure Heeke and Robbins are smarter than that. Why do people forget the human (Miller's) side of this. Miller is reportedly, and by all evidence, a good person. He's worked his tail off at UA and produced terrific results. He has stated he's done nothing wrong. Heeke and Robbins should (and I suspect wisely will) take him at his word, express confidence in him, at least privately, and move on. If, at this point, my boss slid such a document under my nose to sign I'd return the insult and tell him to shove said document up his ass.
