Sadly at this point this is our programs brandInstead, Budinger forwent volleyball and solely focused on basketball at the University of Arizona — and, no, it wasn’t because Arizona offered him $10,000 a month to play for its program.
It is Yahoo after all and they along with ESPN have an agenda to set.Newportcat wrote:Good article on chase (unfortunately lost in the Finals) but of course Yahoo needs to throw this in

Joke's on them. Inflation adjusted, he probably did get paid.Newportcat wrote:Good article on chase (unfortunately lost in the Finals) but of course Yahoo needs to throw this in

My thought exactly.Spaceman Spiff wrote: Joke's on them. Inflation adjusted, he probably did get paid.
For a midlevel NBA career, he made 19 million.Merkin wrote:Chase had a very long 7 year NBA career considering his best season he averaged 9.8 PPG, and 3.7 RPG was his high another year, and his last year in Spain he averaged 6.8 PPG, so a long Euro career was probably not in his future. This way he at least gets to stay in shape and make expenses.
Guarantee Chase saved that well. Hopefully he's managed that smartly and can pursue what he wants to pursue from here on. It's an underrated thing, that 5 mediocre NBA years can leave you set for life if you play it right.

I'm ready to embrace this. I'd wear "A Payers Program" t shirt as long as it also has "They hate us cause they ain't us" on it. We're no different from ASU, TCU, or the big time schools in how we play the game. We just do it better than most.
Incredible that Chase got to chase both of his dreams. Hugely inspiring.Newportcat wrote:Guarantee Chase saved that well. Came from a great family
If he stuck to volleyball he could have been one of the best to ever play the game and glad he is getting his chance now
