I know is a basketball board, but this Greg Hansen article needs to be addressed by the most visited board on the site:

Did I read Hansen's article correctly that former AD Livengood and the UA President in 2000 conspired to mislead the Board of Regents and essentially steal $600k from the Athletic Department?!?

They took it upon themselves to gift Dick Tomey $600k from an already strapped athletic dept budget???

Did they not have a fiduciary responsibility to the UA not to give away funds because they saw it as "compassionate"???

I guess you were not around when Tomey left.

I read the article.

It answered questions that I had at the time.

I was heartened to learn that adults were indeed in the room.

I thought it was for the best that the U settled with Dick. I don't have an issue with any of this, he was paid to go away. No big deal, it was a win-win for both sides.

I've tempered my stance on this over the years, I was furious at Tomey at the time he quit and left us in the lurch for a coach. I blamed Tomey for Mack.
