Dalen Terry
Don't see a thread dedicated for him (a shame since he's the engine of this team imo)
But hopefully he's ok, came back from the locker room.

Re: Dalen Terry
DT is tough af, but I'd be surprised if we see him play again before the NCAA tournament. Unless it really was just a light tweek, and he's perfectly fine tomorrow. If there's any soreness, he needs to rest all next week.

I loled watching that. Dalen’s reaction afterwards was classic too.

What was that? He's a hell of a playmaker. Kier eventually replaced Pelle, not Terry.

He’s a first rounder next year if he can develop a more consistent shot. I doubt anyone is giving him a first round guarantee this year though.Alieberman wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:30 am I'm not a knowledgable draft guy but I have to think no one's stock is rising faster than D Terry.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
Re: Dalen Terry
Terry is turning into our version of Draymond Green. Won't lead the team in scoring, rebounds, or assists, but will fill up the stat sheet every night. Also will play great D every game, and not afraid to take and make the big shot in crunch time. Quickly becoming one of my all time favorite Cats.
Stay one more year, put on another 10 pounds of muscle, and some team late in the 1st round that could use a glue guy will take him. May up being the steal of the draft.

Re: Dalen Terry
It's conceivable to me that DT could actually play himself into the 1st round over the next couple weeks. Koloko too.
I mean, if we win a national title this year, these guys should run through whichever doors open for them. You come to college to win a title. Beyond that, they need to lock down any pro prospects out there.

Re: Dalen Terry
I never though Dalen Terry would be in the conversation as a first round NBA'r. If he gets a reliable 3 he will be. I thought last year he was very questionable but has proved me wrong. Congrats to all the guys and especially DT.

Re: Dalen Terry
One more year, get jacked like Mathurin and he’ll be a lottery pick just like Benn.
Re: Dalen Terry
He is Iggy with a better shot and arguably better court vision. He probably isn’t as strong yet but he can help some NBA team win. Has to have value being able to guard multiple positions and handle the rock with a plus assist/turnover ratio

Re: Dalen Terry
I dunno...his outside shooting has looked pretty good lately. The thing is: he doesn't need to hit a lot of threes to make an impact. He can do so many things well. Any NBA team could use a guy like DT. Big and athletic. Great instincts. Excellent distributor.

Arizona: Dalen Terry
In case you needed another reminder of Terry's multifaceted skill set, he racked up 27 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and just two turnovers across the Pac-12 Tournament semifinal and final, doing an admirable job helping fill in for injured starting point guard Kerr Kriisa.
Kriisa's status is up in the air, but even if he does return, Terry is an indispensable part of the Wildcats. He can play four positions, he's the team's best perimeter defender, and he does the little things that, put together, play a big part in Arizona's success. The more often you hear Terry's name on the game broadcast, the better.

Re: Dalen Terry
ESPN did a mock NBA draft featuring only players in the tournament and they had Terry going early second round (before Tubelis, which I thought was interesting).

Re: Dalen Terry
Terry can definitely go late 1st Rd (with a very good tourney) to mid 2nd rd this year on potential and measurables alone
Tubelis really isn't an NBA player imo

Re: Dalen Terry
Make a Final Four or better, and I have no problem with Terry testing the waters. Still think he could another 10-15 lbs of muscle to be able to bang with the guys in the Association. And a year's worth of consistent shooting. But do well in the tournament, and he can put the pounds on while getting paid.
Tubelis needs to be more consistent from 3. He's a stretch 4 at the next level, but if doesn't shoot better than 30%, no way does he play in the NBA. Terry can always fall back on being a good perimeter defender. Tubelis is a better defender today than when he first stepped on campus, but his ceiling on D probably isn't much higher.

Re: Dalen Terry
He’s done a much better job picking his spots to attack and knocking down threes when he’s left wide open. His growth over the course of this season has been fun to watch. He’s really become a leader.
Re: Dalen Terry
Ok I am just going to say it, to be our best tomorrow we need to let Terry run the point and have Kier play the 2 and help with the ball handling duties.
Kier just doesn’t make as good a reads as Terry. He had some nice passes but he missed some reads that Terry I know see’s.
This would be a tough conversation with a guy who has fulfilled the role is, “back up PG” very well. Don’t want him losing any confidence but I think we win easily if Terry handles the PG duties tomorrow

And the Adama Bal experiment is about adding another scorer in the flow of an offense that Bal plays no role in facilitating. And at the expense of our defense.
The more Terry, the better.
Re: Dalen Terry
A gifted, versatile playmaker off the dribble, Terry repeatedly impressed with the Compton Magic as well as at Pangos with his ability to put on-ball defenders in jail in the pick and roll, slither to the rim and finish with length as well as advanced floor mapping instincts as a decision maker.

Re: Dalen Terry
The offensive flow is much better with Terry running things.
Kier running things reminds me of the typical non Arizona college basketball (terrible to watch) offenses. He also kind stands still and telegraphs passes into the post. It looks so obvious what he's about to do, similar to Tubelis.

Kier has been excellent as backup for Kerr the last two monthes of the season - I have no problem with him starting at PG during Kerr’s injufy absence, and as backup if/when Kerr returns!

When Kier started Senior Day v. Cal, the Cats played them even until Kriisa came in and took over for Kier, then the UA pulled away.
