He was in super early vs Stanford also.
Definitely looks like Lloyd realized he was holding him back like he said after the Cal game.

Bet his line today looks like 16 minutes, 9 points 3-5fg 2-4 from three 1-2 FT 3 rebounds 2 assists 2 turnovers

I don't expect much scoring. Just want to see him out there contributing... making sure he's ready for action

Here's what Lloyd said regarding Bal after Cal
"I wanted to win the game, that was the number one thing,” Lloyd said. “You got a coach here who has probably held a young, talented French kid back a little bit. He’s really improved, he’s really been coming on, he had a great practice yesterday, and Murph really encouraged me to play him early and see what happens.
“We talked about it as a staff and my thing was I just wanted to protect him. It’s like having a talented pitcher. You maybe keep him in the minors a little bit until he’s ready and he was ready. He has a knack for making that first shot and I thought if he did it would give our team a big lift.
“I am really happy for Adama and proud of the progress he’s made. I wanted to reward him for having a great year in practice behind the scenes and working. I think he is going to be a big part of the program going forward.
“I think he is going to be a do everything guard. I think he has a really good feel for the game, he has a high IQ, he’s getting a little nastier, he’s getting more physical, and he’s a shot maker. His role is hopefully going to be one of our best players down the line."

Bal has some nice things going on. A good looking shot, decent court presence and great length. I was hoping that he would get some burn before tourney time because you never know when a situation like last night could happen. It's not just injures either; multiple players can get in foul trouble i.e. Tennessee, a player can get sidelined or thrown out, etc.
Also, teams would have less tape on him because of his lack of usage up until now. By the way somebody said that Boswell is comparable to Jalen Brunson, when he's actually more like Joel Berry the 5 star guard for UNC. They both have the same body type and game. Berry stayed four years and went to two Nattys, let's hope Boswell continues the trend.

I get that BUT with Kerr out, it might be prudent to start giving him some minutes unless we want to just play a very tight 7 going forward…..I thought / expected that tonight he would get some time NOT zero minutes.

If there is a next perimeter superstar returning from last year's roster that's the guy IMO. May not be this year of course. Still just 18.
Where is he ranked if he's in this Senior Class? Top 50 at least I'd guess.

Pelle should be P12 POY candidate this year. Bal definitely has potential to be that his Junior or Senior year

I think Pelle will be first team all PAC12. Bal is three years younger than Pelle though so I think he has considerably more upside.

Bal reminds me a lot of Michael Dickerson. Struggled to find minutes his freshman year, but came on strong at the end. Solid contributor his sophomore year averaging just over 10 ppg. And by his junior year, leading scorer and best defender on the team. Dickerson was also one of the younger players, with a late June birthday, and he had just turned 18 when he got to campus.
Pelle is our best wingman on this team with his age and experience both in college and in international tournaments. I expect Larrson to really shine and Bal to come off the bench and be a very effective 6th man. And in the end, I agree, Bal has a higher ceiling.

I mentioned during the Pac 12 tournament how much his rainbow J reminded me of Michael's. I don't think Bal has quite the same first step but very few do.

Two things: handles were much better than expected, shooting off the dribble. The guy he looks like to me is Benn.

I don't think he's got Ben's juice though. Conversely Adama seems to be much more instinctual off of pick and roll action. Very small sample size of course.

Adama has the freakish wingspan to be an elite defender, that is where he can help us the most while his offensive game evolves.

Adama had a good first game and a not-so-good second game. So I’m curious how he looks tonight. Against Southern he looked like a turnover waiting to happen. He dribbles high and away from his body and doesn’t handle pressure defense well. Looking for him to tighten up his handle so he can step into that Dalen Terry role.

Maybe I'm wrong, but he looks way too loose with the ball. I can definitely see Boswell taking minutes from him.

Bal needs to be a plus defender with his length and a catch and shoot three ball guy. I don’t see much else in his game right now

He needs to pass the ball before his third dribble.
