Dude you have to stop referring to copyrights and trademarks every time this discussion of school colors comes up. The colors, in and of themselves, are not subject to either. You shouldn't spout off with such authority, as you typically do, when you don't know what you're talking about. It's tiresome.

For the record, I think the shade and appearance of the red helmets and red numbers have improved over the last couple of years. It's darker, more cardinal if you will. I used to think it was pretty neon day-glo, not orange as GC perceives, but too bright.

Yeah, I've read all of that stuff before many times. You'll note the title, "The University of Arizona Logo and Color Standards." They're rules and protocols that the UofA has adopted for the proper way to use the logos and colors on University prints and publications. You'll note that many of the logos include the "R" with the circle around it indicating that it is a federally registered trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The manual itself may be subject to copyright, but the colors are not copyrighted or trademarked.

Here's the University's Trademarks and Licensing site. Check out the logo sheet. It shows all of the marks that are protected. Also note, for the record, that each one of those sheets lists the school colors as red, blue, copper and white.

What I find interesting is that we have a trademark on an all black logo, but nothing with silver/gray, and we've started wearing silver/gray uniforms in different sports. I can't 100% tell, but it does look like the A logo on the new football helmets is silver. Maybe we're working on a trademark for that color as well?

Were those technically pearl helmets though? Didn't Nike call it something weird like Galaxy white or some crap? Either way pearl whites aren't a requirement, but I just want one helmet that looks like this:

I don't care if it's a big ass block A or if it's a Wilbur face, just one that looks like this with the players' numbers on the other side.

According to the tracker we are 2-1 in all red. We beat ASSu in 2014, Beat Whoregon in 2013, and lost to ASU in 2012.

I hope we start to go towards an American theme as opposed to a state thing. Copper is cool, but the school colors are red, white and blue which would fit nicely. I like the block A logo flag that is red white and blue but has the same design as the Arizona state flag. Looks good.

A USS Arizona type of setup would be neat. Not sure how, don't want it turning out like Maryland uniforms.

I wonder if they'll allow Arizona to wear red or blue jerseys since they're going all silver. Would make more sense for both teams.
