What's Your Gameday Beer of Choice?

Post by Luuuuuuuute »

What's your beer (or drink) of choice when the Cats play? It's interesting to me what people do and don't drink based on superstitions and other factors. Four Peaks is out because of the shenanigans last year with the Wildcat coaches caravan stop in Phoenix, San Tan as well because they make "Devil's Ale."

I think I may have found the perfect beer for Saturday's game. BEAR (Beer) DOWN!

Agree about Four Peaks, never drink them on game day except pumpkin porter because it is so good and only available for a month and a half or so. Agree about San Tan as well. Usually get a Tucson Blonde or blue moon or XX

I definitely avoid Santan and Four Peaks the week of the ASU game (and while I like some Santan stuff, I have never tasted "Devil's Ale" no matter what the calendar says).

I don't subscribe to the "blood of the enemy" approach and so don't do Oregon beers when we play an Oregon school, etc. (which really is the biggest sacrifice in the conference).

Theoretically I should do Nimbus on game day but usually end up doing something neutral in origin.

I'm usually raiding beer from the coolers of other tailgates, meaning I've settled for plenty of Miller and/or Natty Lites.

Sure buddy. You take the first shot and I'll be right behind you . . . way over here . . . running out the door and down the block.

i actually kind of like malort! when i was in grad school, some friends & i tried to start a tradition of taking malort shots before football games to make the experience more tolerable... though that didn't last very long. wish i could find the stuff out west.

I actually just shivered at the thought.

The best is when you're at a bar and you hear someone in a group say, "Hey, ________ has never had Malort!" Then you know what's coming and the whole bar seems to turn toward them and wait to see the reaction of that person after their first taste.

When you Google "Malort", the second result is "Malort Face": https://www.google.com/search?q=malort+ ... YwodGPcDZw" target="_blank
