Leon is a 5'8", 195, redshirt Freshman running back from Estrella HS, Goodyear, AZ. A walk-on last year, Leon played baseball and ran track in high school as well as playing football. He was the state runner-up at 200m (23.03 pb) and part of the school record holding 4x100 relay team (11.56 pb).
On the football field as a senior Leon ran for 553 yards and 7 TDs and had another 607 yards receiving and 7 more TDs. His averages are what were really impressive. Leon averaged 11.5 yards a carry and 26.4 yards a catch. Sounds like coach should have gotten him the ball more often. Leon was also an outstanding kick returner with 688 yards as a senior.
