Gardner is a 6-5, 285, preferred walk-on Freshman offensive lineman from Queen Creek HS, Queen Creek, AZ. There is not much out there on Gardner, but I want him on the countdown to make a point. This is the 3rd and final offensive lineman in this year's recruiting class. The only one on scholarship, Edgar Burrola, has to redshirt and the other 2 lineman are preferred walk-ons who are almost guaranteed to redshirt. Redshirting is not a big deal, since most Freshman lineman require the year to put on weight and strength and polish technique, but this class is uniquely underwhelming in both quality and quantity of offensive lineman. We need to make up for it in this current recruiting class or the team's strength will quickly turn into a major weakness.
372 is the number of yards gained last year by our leading returning running back. To put that in a little perspective Ka'Deem Carey's school record for rushing yards in a game is 366. Do you know which running back is our leading returning rusher? Zach Green. He is likely to be the 3rd or 4th on the depth chart this year barring injuries or juvenile stupidity. I don't think this number should give us much concern. We will likely have Wilson or Taylor break 372 yards for the year by the first conference game.
