White Out
So, the game this Saturday is a white out. I'll be coming down for the game, and although I have plenty of red shirts and some blue ones, I don't have any white UA shirts. I saw the "official" white out T-shirts online, but shipping is ridiculous, so I'm going to wait until I get into town to look for a shirt. Are the white T-shirts only available at the Bookstore, or are they on sale throughout the city? Not sure if I'm going to need a friend to grab me a couple or if I'll have no problems getting them once I get into town.
Re: White Out
I am 98.6% sure you can get a white UA Tshirt at the bookstore before the game. Alumni association members get discounts as well at the book store.

I know they're available at the Bookstore, but what about in stores in the city? When I come into town on Saturday, does anybody know if the T-shirts are available in the malls, or a Walmart, or something similarMachina wrote:I am 98.6% sure you can get a white UA Tshirt at the bookstore before the game. Re: White Out
I doubt the official white out shirts would be available anywhere other than on campus but I bet you can get any ole white UA T-shirt almost anywhere in Tucson.VegasCatFan wrote:I know they're available at the Bookstore, but what about in stores in the city? Re: White Out
In the past I've had some luck at Target (in Tucson) for official (and cheaper) shirts. Can't speak to a special "white out" shirt. Worst case; wear a white T-shirt. Doubt that will be noticed on the TV screen

Which doesn't seem to be helping. Tickets are going at the same pace as the first two games, maybe they'll pick up? I'm not buying a shirt -- I have 3 from basketballRondaeShimmy wrote:Sell ticketsCalStateTempe wrote:why a white out? for a run of the mill game against cal?

I'm thinking it's too get people excited before the momentum is killed against Oregon.

I don't know that it's completely fair to judge how it's affecting ticket sales given the fact that the entire town has been freaking the hell out about all of the rain they've been forecasting. With that being said, I don't think a whiteout in football would really have moved the needle much anyways. The shirt revenue is probably nice though.
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
Re: White Out
Daniel Berk tweeted out that we "may or may not" wear the white helmets that were displayed at Pac-12 Media Day. Interesting note was pics from Tuesday's practice had us wearing white helmets with no decal. Usually our helmets have the decal on them when we practice.
Re: White Out
White practice helmets from yesterday.
Normal blue practice helmets.
They could still have a surprise up their sleeve for Saturday, but the practice helmets normal don't have decals. And the only stripes are on the DBs to see where their eyes are looking.

Re: White Out
Thanks ANGcat. For some reason I thought that we had the decal on the helmets during practice.

My son just told me that they are selling the Whiteout t-shirts at the UofA stores at Park Mall and Tucson Mall. His girlfriend is going over to Park Place today to buy their shirts.

Maybe it was posted somewhere else and if it was, my apologies.
Arizona has worn white at home in the past. In 1982 vs. asu - http://allsportstucson.com/2014/08/23/a ... he-streak/
Personally, I am a fan of wearing the whites whenever possible. I like the look. I think our white helmets are our best helmets and even though I'm not a fan of the current uniforms, the whites look the best of all the choices. I'm looking forward to the white out. Should be a lot of fun.

Re: White Out
Time to start prepping for the white out!
I've got the girl picked out,
along with music,
a movie for the kids,
then it will be time for tailgating
some pre-game visualization,
one last check to make sure nothing is missing,
and then off to the game to beat Cal and go 4-0.

Re: White Out
IMNSHO, doing the "white Out" for a Pac-12 network game is a totally wasted effort as far as public relations value goes....

Re: White Out
Agree. The crazy part is this was pre-planned. When is the last time CAL was relevant nationally? They couldn't wait for USC? It's damn near sold out anyway. They hadto get approval from CAL which makes it even more funny.
Re: White Out
Great, got it, you wouldn't have chosen to do a white out today. I wouldn't have either. But the decision has been made, the plan is in place, now just put on white and Bear Down!
Re: White Out
azgreg understands how to prep for a white out. It is not about bitching it is about embracing white and making the most of the day.
Re: White Out
BYU has a "white out" live on ESPN right now...

Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Yes. It's the jersey color. THAT'S the problem.

The point is still the same. Our sucking has nothing to do with colors.
